Default Maintenance Required Light?

So this morning when I turned on the tC the "Maintenance Required" light flashed at me twice and then shut off, never came on again.

Granted its only 13 degrees this morning, but is this something i should get checked out? Or wait on it or what?

thats normal, after few hundred miles it will stay on completely. If you reset it, it will be back to normal

default setting is for it to flash at 4500 miles. every 5000 it will stay on until reset. nothing to worry about. its just a reminder that you're due for scheduled maint.

^^^ Ditto.

Once you get your service done, the dealer will reset it, or you can reset it yourself simply by turning the key from the Off position to the On position while holding down the trip meter reset button (make sure your mileage is displaying before, and not trip A or trip B). Your mileage will change to 000000 and then go back to your actual mileage and that MAINT Reqd light will go off until the next 4500-5000 miles.

Change oil, reset light, all done. It's the Check Engine light you have to worry about...

yes! i wish there wasnt tire sensors. that light is so annoying. its just a bigger obligation to have to get the tpms installed in new rims. its not that hard to check your tire pressure once in a while.

i'm ordering my rims as a tire/rim package w/ new pirelli's and i definately not going to pay extra to have those taken off the stockies to put in new ones that i'll have to take back out come winter.

so the CEL and the maintenace required lights are different then? (for some reason thought the maintenace one was the CEL)

Correct. They are 2 different lights.

Maint Req'd - no big deal
CEL - can be a big deal (or could be that you just didnt tighten the gas cap...)

alright thanks and the gas cap one ____es me off ( gotta remember i moved up in the world from a basic stock ford ranger truck w/ no working a/c, or auto locks/windows/ no cruise control, so the tC is a big thing for me lol. the CEL is all i had to tell me anything in it)

thanks again for all of the help everyone
