Default 05-RS1's new auto s/c setup w/ dyno tune (vid on pg 2)

well this was suppose to be complete last summer but one thing lead to another and it never got done until now. here are the new additions to the previous setup:

NST 12lb pulley
Deatschwerks 700cc injectors
35 dry shot of nitrous
New tune

Still waiting for the dyno graph to be emailed to me, but i made 248whp @ 13.5 psi. the 13.5 psi was a big surprise to me since i was expecting around 11psi or so..wasn't a disappointment at all . A/F held steady between 11.0-12.0. With one initial run with the nitrous (no tuning, just added a little extra fuel to get a feel for it) the car made 268whp. However, we ran into a small snag. the tuner was unable to add more fuel to mix with the nitrous and we had to stop it there. the injectors were limited to only 20% on the duty cycle. even with that, the nitrous setup was making the car run a bit lean so i'm not going to be running the nitrous anytime soon. (i was already holding my breathe for nothing to blow up on the first nitrous run ). my original plan was to be running a 50 dry shot but the tuner didnt recommend that since i was already s/c'd and it was a dry shot. my plan now is to convert it to a wet setup and go in for re-tune with the nitrous (no time table for this).

All in all i am very pleased with the results ! my goal was to reach 270whp with the high boost pulley and a 50 shot of nitrous, but i was extremely pleased to see that my goal was already reached with a 35 shot untuned. Hitting the track this friday if weather permits so stay tuned!

very nice numbers... gives hope to others that it's possible to make some decent numbers with the S/C...

nice numbers man. The reason it showed 13.5 psi was because of the nitrous...it increases boost

what supporting mods do you have for your auto to handle 240hp

no upgrades have been done to the tranny. i got on it a couple times with the new tune (248whp) and everything was ok. like i said, never got to try out the nitrous (268whp?). if anything should occur, i.e. slipping tranny, it will have a better chance of occuring at the track. if anything does happen i will post up for everyone to know.

if you're concerned about why auto trannies on turbos slip is because it's a spike in power unlike with the s/c which is a linear increase. the nitrous gives a power spike as well but unfortunately i wasnt able to try it out.

i'll correct whatever john didnt mention right.

-we were not limited by duty cycle, but the emanage ultimate's unwillingness to have a separate fuel map for when nitrous is activated. hence, we MIGHT convert it to wet shot in order to leave the fuel factor out, and only adjust timing. Wish we would've seen this tuning issue before hand so we wouldn't need to go wet route, which was why we got the 700cc instead. fuel from injectors is better than extra fuel lines running around with a wet setup.

-no tranny issues...ever. i have not seen any issues with s/c and automatics. but we will add a transmission oil cooler to run in-line after the stock cooler.

-13.5psi, was seeing more also. saw as much as 255whp when we leaned it out as much as possible and no timing adjustments, but then added back fuel for safety. also, the timing could've been advanced for even more power. it liked the timing, and didnt see any knock, but we liked it where it was at.

-yes, on nitrous, didnt really much it more than 3 runs. could've hit close to 285-295whp, if EMS had allowed. bottle pressure was only at 600psi b/c bottle heater malfunctioned. with higher pressure, would've seen a LOT leaner mix.

personally, i think john should stop and not go nitrous anymore. we have it at good power, and can sell the nitrous setup for extra money to put in elsewhere. ie. brake pads, sways, etc

or even into our new twin-turbo project with our 08 saleen :-D

its a 12.0psi NST pulley

current pulley setup is NST crank, water pump, and s/c.

Nice numbers! tuninng really makes a difference with the bigger pulley? Probably had higher psi cause of the colder weather.

Anyway, I think you said your running the greddy ultimate, right? What dyno was it run on?
