I'm putting two monitors on the trunk but they are too heavy. The trunk doesnt stay up. Does anybody know what size or where I can get stronger ones to keep the trunk up? Thanks.

 

For the most part, they're pretty much universal.

I know with the buses I get parts for (yeah yeah, I know buses aren't cars) they're done by length.

Maybe find some heavy duty ones at a local parts store and match the compressed and relaxed measurements.

 

do i just measure the actual strut or the whole strut extended. Also how can I tell how strong the strut is?

 

There may be a pound rating on it. I'm not sure.

Another option would be linear actuators...

Must be two huge monitors. I have a 15" flip down on mine and it works just fine. Never came down one time at all.

We just cut some plastic pipe that clipped on to the strut to keep it from closing.
