Default Late Feb. vacation

My wife and I are taking a short vacation, heading down to SoCal for a little race action, Nascar style. We are so excited, Shirley has raced locally (Columbia County, old Portland Speedway, & Tenino to name a few), and has always wanted to see a race on a super speedway, so I figured this would be a good time to get away for a weekend. Made arrangements with a fellow xA'er to pick us up at the airport and take us back to the airport and bought a ticket package that included motel, and transport to and from track each day, should be a great time. Bought a couple of 1g xD cards for my camera, plus the cards I already have, should have a whole bunch of pics to look at after I get back. We will be sitting in the area of pit road entrance, can't wait, had to post a tell everyone about it.

So cool Rob! I've been to several races from coast to coast and you are going to so have some fun! Atmosphere is what is all about! I will definately agree with Matt- if you really are into watching the actual race it is so much better on TV- the wrecks are better too! hehe It is all about the surrondings, the people, the smell the sound... and the beer!!!

Do your shopping at the trailers early! Because the good stuff will go fast!

Have a great time and I'm looking forward to pictures!!!!!

I have two sets of rechargeables and plan on buying another set, plus bringing the charger for them. Camera is good on batteries as long as I don't use the EVF or flash and my xD cards are battery friendly also. Plus, my camera uses AA batteries, can get new ones anywhere. As for eats, we will be at the track all day long Sat. and Sun., flying in Fri. evening, and leaving early enough Mon. that we won't have time to do any running around, probably eat at a restaurant near the hotel, Outback probably.
