^ I had Marquez Auto Body in Chula Vista repaint my rear bumper and paint my JP Vizage grille, did a really awsome job and the color match is spot on. They are a little pricey but you get what you pay for. It's a family owned business and they have been around since the 60's, they wont bull____ you around and will do the job right.

Forgot to add that both items were painted within 24 hours, I had a tight schedule and Denise was able to hook me up.

Stay away from the Toyota dealership off of Mission Gorge Rd, they have a collision repair center on site and I had them replace my bumper cover and repaint one of the lower skirts after I got rear ended. The color match was off and one year later(warranty expired) the paint started to chip on the bumper and was actually peeling on the lower skirt. I got a new prepainted skirt from trdsparks since it was cheaper than a repaint and had Marquez respray the bumper.

Pete Santini is somewhere around Huntington Beach... and yeah, he's not cheap... but he does great work... a lot of his stuff ends up on the covers of magazines.

My '97 Dakota was painted by him... very wicked work,... ended up on the cover of Truckin' Magazine in January '98.

NO, im not making my car into a race car. I need them for other reasons. When auto explosion installed my aero kits they used 3m tape on the inside and also used rivets every few inches along the entire kit for strength and rigidity. The shops I've been to in the past wouldn't do this for me, they always took a drill and just drilled in a few screws at the end..... The rivets are all hidden secretly but I'm sure if you wanted this more for show purposes you could speak to them about it...... big ++++ for Auto Explosion in Gardena.

Wow some big guns here and it looks like some great shops. Some close enough to drive to but not leave my car with unfortunately.

One thing I did not see addressed (correct me if I am wrong) is if these shops do well with Polyurethane. I need a kit painted. Both front and rear are Poly. I jsut don't want to take it to any shop :)

However I am sure most of these great shops I see listed will have plenty of exp. with what I need done.

A five axis front lip on a tC. Painted Super White (nothing show worthy.) No rush deadline. How much would this cost? I'm trying to get cost estimates for myself and for others that don't have enough $ during this recession to spend on show quality shops :!:

haha i would consider ross to be a quality shop capable of building show cars heck right now he is working on some cars for sema : ) ... he is fair, fast and a dedicated member to this scene.... +1 for ross : )

can someone please give actual quotes for cheap paint jobs. I hit up ross (obviously everyone in ScionEvolution supports him) and he quoted me $125 for painting the five axis front lip a stock white. does anybody have any other shops that can beat that price on just a front lip painted super white?

Hey dude 125 is actually a good price. M1 autobody charged me 175 for my front lip. Did you call the other references I gave you? In my personal opinion ave price 150 depending on shop. Don't worry Ross as a Scion owner will take care of your stuff. Should you find any flaws if there is any, just let him know. Oh and Ross has done my last kit twice and wing once. From passed experiences coming from me the cheapest doesn't mean the greatest either. Just some food for thought. Good luck in the search for that ice cream paint job bruh.

These guys repaired my left quarter panel, and the paint looks great. It's the best work I've seen from any bodyshop I've been to. Nice and thick clear coat too. I might have them completely respray my car after I've accumulated some more chips on Scion's "Anti-chipping paint".

every shop has a customer who complained about little things and expect more out of something they pay for. everyshop has had a customer like that and all they can do is move on, no need to go out of business because of 1 person who wasn't satified. it's life so grow up and move on.

All that Ross gave you was quote and nothing more from what I can recall. did you physically go to his shop to show him the piece that needed work? It could have been cheaper or more expensive, but all it was is just that a quote. There's no need to jab his shop like that. You already got your lip painted and you are more than satisfied, but there's no need to plug the shop anymore where you got your paint done. Pretty soon I'm gonna charge you a sponsor fee if I see anymore plugs. LMAO.

BUT it took you 6 months to find a shop to paint 1 lip? daymn!

Newb... this guy asked me for a quote to paint a FIVE AXIS front lip... which is poly urethane.... the rs1 lip is ABS plastic... a totally different material.... that's good that you found a shop that painted your lip cheap... good for you...sometimes my time frame takes a long time, but customers are always happy....

Ross and Midnight Garage has always been on the up and up with me..he's worked on all my cars..the Supra, xB, Mercedes, Nissan 180sx and the NSX..always been happy with his work and always he give you a fair deal and goes the extra mile to make sure ur happy with his work.

Eamon was an ex-employee there and didn't see eye to eye with Ross..might be why his opinion of the place is kinda twisted !..so never assume because...well you guys know the rest of the quote...

if you need a shop in the OC area I recently found La Habra Collision Center who were very willing to negotiate on pricing w/ me to win the bid, pretty much beat out any offer I had any where else, and that included those ghetto places but for a collision center type work.

I talked to the owner Tak who hooks it up if you are willing to review on forums... I just sold the xB but just tell him the pink and white 08 xB and he'll remember I'm sure and make sure you tell him you post on scion life. I brought his workers 2 costco pizza's and they hooked me up!!! even detailed my car.... I highly recommend

you could order spray can paint or just a size for spray guns.
A spray can with the color you want is about $20. They sell all different kinds of paint. :)

I really like Carsmetics on Main Street in Irvine.

Remember any damage over $500 that you claim of your Insurance will be notified to the CA DMV who in turn notify Carfax.com

This will knock $1000's off the value of your Car when you come to trade it in at a Dealer or sell it privately. So try not to claim on your Policy if you can afford not to..
