Default bored.. so took some pics in Manhattan

So I was in the city the other morning after it had just finished snowing and noticed the streets were unusually empty. So I stopped and snagged a few pics. I also added a few from a meet night with some buds, hope you enjoy !

Nice pics, but are you going for a 5-lug conversion with those wheel covers?

Does the xB get any respect trying to get through traffic in NY? I drove an SUV (Saturn Vue) through Manhattan about a year and a half ago and it was rough. I didn't sweat it much because of the plastic panels. I saw some nice cars dive into a 1+ foot deep pothole.

Not to mention the GPS cutting out because it was blocked by the buildings and overloaded from all the streets (like a 5 year old GPS).

It didn't help that it was rush hour on the Friday before Memorial Day either. I just know I'm NEVER doing it again!

Some streets worst than others stew32, with the stock wheels and no drop , I found it just bumpy for the xb, rather than damaging, only thing that seems to be a threat are those cabdrivers

Nice pics, I appreciate seeing the scenery in the background. Good choice on xB color too, nothing quite like a clean white box.

the streets aren't so bad and the xb is actually extremely nimble in size. it handles so well in traffic or just cruising down an avenue here. some of the potholes you really gotta slow down for and sometimes dodge but that's on a few streets, the majority are fairly smooth.

i hit so many serious potholes and have always come out unscathed - never a dent / scratched bumper / flat tire, etc. i have been driving it around the nyc area mostly and have about 23 k miles on it and the stock tires / steelies are doing absolutely fine.

but yeah, driving in manhattan takes some getting used to. i dont know how people can manuever hummers / busses / 18-wheelers when there are cabs all around and on top of u!

True. We have bad drivers and bad roads too. I just wasn't used to people coming within inches of my car, assuming I would yield when I had the right of way. I imagine it would've been worse if I was driving anything smaller, like the xB.

xB is small and nimble. Oddly, I find it more difficult to maneuver in tight spaces than my Vue or the pickups I had before. I think it's because the turning radius isn't proportionally smaller relative to the shorter length and wheelbase.

You have to drive like you own the streets. I find that driving in a truch is easier then a car. If im driving around in the city then im even worse. If you dont drive agressive then everyone and their mothers will walk all over you and you will not get anywhere.

People are too crazy. I will do the nozzle mod only after the concealed Glock mod.
