I have had a lot of requests from SL members on here for me to tint their taillights. One of the most often requests that I get is "will you tint my TYC's like yours?" I have no problem doing so but you MUST check your state laws first to see if tinted taillights is legal in your state. Most cases cops won't pull you over for tinted tails unless.
1: You are attracting unwanted attention by speeding, weaving in and out of traffic or just being stupid.
2: A cop is really bored and has nothing better to do.
3 Your taillights are really too dark and could cause a possible accident.

This DIY will be coming on Monday (March 3rd). Basically I plan on starting Friday with removing my tails, untinting the tails and then retinting them with step by step instructions on what products to use, how to wet sand, how to remove orange peel, how to get that deep glossy shine, etc.

So for those of you who want their tails to look like the ones posted below, be patient, it will be here in a few days! Or if you simply don't feel comfortable doing this on your own PM me and we'll work something out.....if you are local I'll come by and show you how to do it.

i got tyc prolly wont tint mine just cus i like the look stock but i just wanted to tell anyone that FLEA does an amazing job with his DYI he has a couple out there and its step by step with pics he takes his time to help us! i used is removing bumper/tails DIY step by step and i came out perfect! so thanks again FLEA for all the help u give ppl on scion life

 

1 looks somewhat lighter, a question, how does it look at night/any pics?

JW since if I do this I know CA law is a bit strict on tinting the tail lights and want to know how it looks with them turned on.

 

I still got to do the final wet sanding on the passenger tail, then buff it, wax it and install. I'll take pictures of the tails at night...then post the DIY. Hopefully it will be up by 9 or 10 tonight.

FYI, I retinted mine the dark version 2 style.

I cannot emphasize this enough....TAKE YOUR TIME. The clear is almost dry on the second tail, wetsand, buff, wax, take pics off car...then on and the DIY will be up later, I'll post a link to it.

 

Writing up the DIY right now. It's taking longer than expected, but it will be up tonight.
