I have hella micro de's but I don't really like the way they sit on my car. They look too much out of place. The more I look at vrd's on tCs the more I like the "clean" look they provide.
BUT, there is one problem. Too much chrome. Is there a way to get them in black? Or maybe sand out the chrome and use a metalic black paint?
I've also seen the black ones on ebay, but I don't know about quality or how they will look on a tC. If someone that has the ebay ones can chime in and offer some input or pics I would appreciate that also. Thanks in advance!

 

Get the vrd's and overlays. I think bluebat makes em. You can also tint them.

 

no overlays. I think it would look out of place unless I put overlays on my headlights which I will not do.

 

You missed out on that VRD fog sale. They were like 189.99.

 

i have overlays on my vrds, i thought it was too much chrome too. looks much better now.

 

you could take them apart then paint the chrome on the inside with a tinted clear (black) that should do it.

 

I don't think it would look out of place at all. It's a quick non permanent method and you can always remove them if you get sick of it.

 

well if you paint the chrome thats the reflector then you wont get much output....of course fogs arent usually a performance mod anyways...i think the overlay is a good method...you dont have to black them out..just smoke them.

 

if you use a tinted clear you wont have any loss of reflectivity at all.

No worries. I checked ebay and they're 175-180 and directly from VRD. That's how I got my upper and lower grilles

 

i smoked mine with bluebats, light smoke. just to show you the difference.

id do an overlay, down in those holes u wont be able to tell. and if you take them apart and paint the inside they may not seal completely when you put them back together. and the vrds are glass so if you painted the outside it would chip very easily.

 

lol they arent sealed right from the factory i bet if you took them apart you would reseal them better then VRD.

not saying i dont like them, i love them, but i have a nice puddle in my passengers side,... im too lazy to empty it

 

i figured they were better then that, well in that case take the apart and paint the reflector inside.

I really want to know if the those require some kind of custom work to be done, or do they just go into the stock bumper normally?
