Get the ad of Bestbuy, Go to Fry's Electronics and price match since they're not specified on the mail in form. get it for 699.99 and try the mail-in rebate. I'm not a 100% on this but it seems feasible (in my head at least)

the rebate says specifically not valid at best buy circuit city and some other place. my friend bought it thinking he could use it, when he printed out the pdf off of the pioneer website it says in light gray print or something to that effect that it's not valid in those retail locations

but even at 699, you can't beat the quality you're getting. i've had my d3 for about 6 months now, maybe 9. i love it

Another Headsup--> Cartoys has the D3x for $799 which would be a better deal if you want the bluetooth. If you dont' need that then the $699 is still a great deal from an authorized reseller.

Now the price is legit. I forgot to post up what I found out about the rebate.

I called Pioneer a second time a few weeks ago, and they told me the exact opposite of what they told me the first time; they would not honor the rebate if I price matched at Fry's from BestBuy. But I guess the find you made makes it all good!

I am going to have to hold off on the navi system right now, seeing that I'm getting rims very very soon :)

pretty much pioneer is not gonna give anyone $200 back no matter what......it is really a bait and switch tactic designed to get you to purchse their product and then not giv anyone the rebate based on the rules they decide...........I am starting to lean to the Eclipse........

^Yep.........seems to be the better system........navi may not be quite as sharp.......but both have flaws inthat catigory...........

eclipse has better sound shaping features such as 7 band parametric equalizer and 5v preouts, and the 2 slots for 1 dvd and 1 nav CD is nice to have. However they won't be as low priced as that Avic D3

do the price match at fry's, and get a gift receipt and mail that one to pioneer, that way it's clean of the price-match info.
