Default Newbie installing subs.

Hi, I was thinking about getting the Elemental Design box for my 2008 xB. I wanted to get a pair of JL Audio 10W7-3's. What would be the best amp to power 2 of these babies and how should they be wired up. I've always been confused to that aspect, with the ohms, parallel, series, etc. I just don't get it haha.

Edit: Well I think I'll just order the 13kv.2 from ED. I'll get the nine.2 to match it. Anyone else here have the same setup?

www.bcae1.com

Start there.

Those subs won't fit in that box, I don't think.

Get ready to wait. A LONG time. I'm going on over 2 months and I just got my fedex tracking number from them. I hope it's worth the wait.

If you fit a 12" sub, but you're considering 10W7's (and the price tag that comes with them).....you might as well get yourself a 13Av.2 and go all-in. A Nine.1 would power it nicely.

There's ALOT better out there than the 10W7's. Trust me. JL's W7 series have excellent SQ, don't get me wrong, but they're so high priced. You could look into other brands.

If you're curious, let me know. uberspeed knows my setup...

Well, instead of jumping to such an expensive set of subs, I've finally ordered some entry level stuff. I ordered the Premium head unit for 300 off of ebay brand new (good deal I think). I also ordered the 2008 Scion xb single 13kv.2 enclosure from ED. I also ordered the 13kv.2 sub with a Nine.2 amp. I figure that this would make me happy for awhile. It'll also make my wife happy by not spending so goddamn money. Is there anyone else on scionlife with the same amp and sub that I ordered? If so, how is it? I'm new to Elemental Design stuff.

xseveredveganx has a sick setup. Rattle your fillings loose type of setup (thank god I have no fillings lol).
I'll be receiving the same enclosure soon, I have the 13Kv.3 D4 (2Ohm) waiting for it. I'll be using an Eclipse XA5000 and feeing it 450W RMS. eD stuff is usually underrated and performs quite well. Venture over to icix. http://www.icixsound.com/vb/index.php
