Default Need some clutch upgrade guidance

What brand of clutch is ideal for a tc at about 280-310hp?

mostly street application, but some track usage.

I suggest Clutchmasters Stage 3:

But if your gonna get a new clutch, might as well get the new flywheel.. lol

Same website, under the Clutch-Transmission category.

clutchmaster, act, exedy. and yeah, as french said, you should think about getting a newer flywheel while your tranny's already apart. clutchmaster makes a pretty good one, and so does fidanza, but, it's aluminum.

Really? I thought it was Carbon Steel?

http://www.sciongarage.com/product.p...7&cat=5&page=1

~# CM uses only 6061-T6 aircraft grade or better billet aluminum in the manufacturer of its flywheels.
# CM uses High Carbon steel for the friction surface. (Replaceable)

I guess its both... Lol...

Are you planning on staying around that HP? or plan on building more? me personally I would go with a 6 puck or even a 4.....if you get it sprung you dont loose out much on comfort. Anything sprung will be pretty smooth and a 4/6 puck will grab hard.....depends on what you wanna do.

I probably won't go above that on horsepower....

It seems obvious to do the flywheel to I guess at this point.

Is the aluminum bad?

Me personally I didn't even change the flywheel......I think the fidanza was like 9lbs....toooo light for my liking...my car revs our fast enough on nitrous. I just put in an exedy stage 2 and left the stock flywheel.

Well I found out today that when I unplugged my secondary o2 sensor (like it was before I noticed the "slipping") to problem went away....

so maybe it isn't a clutch issue. Apparently my MAF needed to be re-seated and my ECU needed a reset.

no doubt. I was planning on doing both at one time. I know in the past when I had extra money I was considering doing clutch, flywheel, and LSD.... but I'm not really hearing about any kind of greatness with the LSD; although I'm sure if one is pushing 400-500hp....that would help.

The TRD LSD has some good to great reviews. Ive got friend who has it installed on his car, he loves it. Never loses HP and Torque to burnouts anymore. And you can feel the car just doing a smooth acceleration.

Just my .02

I wish i knew someone local with one so I could drive it around a bit. I hate that jump the car does during hard acceleration when shifting on a turn.
