Default just ordered my mww header/spipe and had a question

I'm at 18k miles..should I go ahead and replace the gasket on my exhaust manifold? I know it's probably better safe than sorry but I was jw. I just don't want to spend the money if i dont have to lol

Better safe than sorry.

You probably don't need to but, might as well since you are going to be under there.

Good luck with the upgrade and let us know how you like it

When I changed my header (Megan Racing) the gasket still looked good. But I used the one Megan provides with the header....

^ $27 actually, part number 17173-28010.

i had to buy one last week before installing my Strup header because it didnt come with a new gasket and i didnt want to risk re-using the old one with 30k on it.

most dealerships keep them in stock, i called and picked it up within half an hour.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE wear gloves when you install it or make SURE you wipe the header down before you start the car. I would hate for you to have an UGLY new header the day you receive it.

Can anyone attest this for me?

After spending 500+ on the header I'm not sure if he will want to spend the other 200+ for Jethot. But I agree Drax, Jethot would look great. If I had the money at the time I would do that too.

I wouldn't mind jet hotting it but I really don't want to drop the extra cash to do it...not to mention thursday would be the absolute best time for me to install this because i'm on spring break and i'll have all day to do it..god forbid something goes wrong i have plenty of time to make sure its done right.

i work 5 days a week and go to school the other 2 days..i get out of school in the early afternoon but i'd rahter not be staring at the clock during class more so than i already do lol..its bad enough i'll be staring at the clock at work so the day will be over!

Ok so I have kind of a stupid question but better safe than sorry right?

I like to listen to music when working on my car and was wondering if removing the exhaust manifold and o2 sensor with the key in the "on" position (obviously the engine won't be running just listening to radio) will this harm anything? I dont think it would but like I said..better safe than sorry.

Oh and as I'm postintg this i'm sitting here waiting for UPS to come to my door! Tracking says its been on the truck for delivery since 6:30 this morning...

^ generally when working with anything electrical in any car you should unplug the battery at all times. but as for your question i do that all time and havent had problems....did it with both my 02 sensors actually. i work better with music on =p

but if you're working with the MAF sensor or something more important, like a CAI install,, i'd unplug the battery.

yeah when i installed my cai I disconnected the battery. I was just wondering if its the same for the o2 sensor..i can live without music but it just helps keep me relaxed when working
