Please no "your scion is crap, or my 1st gen is the only real scion-etc"

I have a 1st gen xB and really like it but there are flaws. It's road noise is pretty high, it around town ability is awesome but passing on the highway with more than 1 person in the car is questionable. I love the amount of room and the gas mileage and the ability to see over some traffic.

My question I guess stems from driving my GFs Sonata again this weekend-it's fast, quiet, has a sunroof but gets not so great mileage and I don't like the lack of headroom...

So I wonder if there is something better suited in the middle. The XD seems possible, I don't like the looks of the new xB as much and the tC might be an option because they 'go' and there are some reasonable go fast FI kits but the milage, headroom and storage make me wonder if it's worth it?

What do you think of your car-good, bad, etc?
