06.5 auto tranny slippage at 23k miles
Recently, I am getting what feels like slipping in the transmission. For example, taking off at a red light, if the person in front of my slows down, I slow down, but when I speed back up, the car "bumps" forward with so much force, I had passengers think I was rear ended. This is happening almost all the time now. Today, I pulled out of the driveway, eased it into drive, waited a second then pushed the accelerator, engine revved then lurched forward again as if somebody rear ended me.
This is starting to hurt my neck, and completely unacceptable. Transmission fluid level is fine, but I am taking it to the dealer ASAP for warranty service.
Is this kind of behavior normal, or is my transmission slipping and about to fail entirely? Last time I was in a car that lurched like that, the transmission failed entirely.
Are there special driving instructions for these automatic transmissions I am unaware of? Am I supposed to wait longer after braking before tapping the gas? The transmission feels tight when it takes off, but darn these lurches are killing my neck.
