Default New to XB, help with a few questions.

Hi all I just picked up a used 06.5 xb with 100k on it. The car is in exclent shape and I am very happy with it. She is the manual trans xb. So now to my question

I am looking for either going to drop in k and n style or dry filter and remove the second filter, mod the air box a bit. Or should I get a SRI for it like the injen is2100? More power would be nice but mostly looking for some mpg. I am not a hot rod driver just want a reusable air filter, mpg, and hp.

So do the aftermarket intakes really do much over the stock air box with a performance filter and some modifications to the box? It's $50 for a drop in filter and an hour of time vs 2-4 times that amount. Also I live in ut and will have no problems with passing an inspection. So no CA stuff to worry about.

Thanks in advance. I have already learned a lot on this site.

Do you get a lot of dust in UT??? If so, stick with the paper filter.

I would say no more then most places. Are the dry performance filters good? Like the ones from afe? Just the drop in.
