Default Got pulled over this morning,

So I am working in Portland, OR today, drove down last night and spent an hour hunting for a hotel that was not full I ended up at the Shilo Inn in Beaverton.

So this morning as I pulled out of the hotel I needed to turn left on a four lane road, and a big semi is trying to pull into the lot I am coming out of so the truck stops, I can’t see around the truck so I turn right instead to get out of there. Just then I see a cop on the side street and he pulls me over. I was thinking to myself what did I do.

Cop tells me he pulled me over for no front plat and asks why I don’t have it on the front of the car. I respond that I don’t have predrilled holes so I wasn’t sure what to do. Then he asks if I have been drinking. I respond no. Then he is like do you have a eye issue, and I am like oh yeah I have astigmatism where my eyes go back and forth. He disappears with my info, comes back and is like well I’m not going to give you a ticket. I am thinking to myself if he did I am not a resident of Oregon the car is not registered in Oregon so that would be interesting I could use it as a test case to see if I really need a front plate if I am out of state. I have not been pulled over in WA, or CA yet for no front plate.

Then the officer is like can we take a video of your eyes. I am like lol sure I am use to being a medical test case. So they video tape me as I follow the guys finger. They were all excited to be able to use it as a training video. Interesting day. Note to self stay out of Beaverton, or put on front plate.

Stupid Beaverton cops! They are always out in full force here on Canyon Rd when I'm at work. I watch at least 15-20 cars get pulled over a day.

You are not too far from me I am on Barns RD. Kinda cool!

Nice to see the cops doing their job! I don't mind getting pulled over because I know it is wrong to not have the front plate.

Good thing it wasnt the portland police. They like to shoot first and then ask questions. Or even the Portland fire department who likes to beat people up and call it self defense. Damn i hate them both.

You forgot to mention how the cop called his supervisor when he pulled you over...wow...not one but two cop cars.

Thank goodness it wasn't State Patrol or some group that might look up the terrorist watch list...then you would have really been in for a world of hurt.

Don't go "Rendition" on me. I want you to return home so no more stupid mistakes okay!

When he asked if I had an eye issue I would have said, "Yeah, I'm blind!" Kinda weird if they would ask to tape you too...but whatever gets you out of a ticket...

I've been a police officer for over ten years now, you should try walking in our shoes for a day. It is a thankless job.

Beaverton Police are the worst(best) police in the portland area imo. They are on top of offenders for all sorts of things.

No front plate is against the law in OR(stupid imo) and the Beaverton police like to stop people for it. hehe.

well atleast you never got a ticket yay!

If I had gotten a ticket I would have been mad, cuz I have never gotten a ticket since I have been driving.

And as for the eye problem I am considered legally blind so I guess that counts as an eye condition.

The cop did ask about my tC and wanted to know what mods I had, I was like some dealer installed options lol. He told me he has a Civic and likes the tC. He seamed cool, but I wasn't sure if he was just fishing for information.

I got a no front plate ticket a few months back (in hillsboro), it ended up costing me a $45 fee to get a $60 ticket dismissed because I put the plate on. Very stupid.

Beaveton has problems because they use the cops and the courts as a revenue stream. The judges are appointed and answer only to the city council. Bad scene all aound.

Beaverton uses a lot of red light cameras and photo radar. That's why they enforce the front plate law. They need to be able to take a photo of your plate.
