TPMS troubles........HELP!!!!!!!!!
Hi all,
Just put a set of Scion TC factory wheels on the XD. I used a set of Tc factory tp sensors in the wheels. Now I am getting a blinking warning light for a minute and then a solid light indicating a system malfunction. Whats up with this?
Thanks!!!!

Really....Look for the reset button and how to reset it in the manual...I think that after you reset and you drive the car for so many miles that it should go off..Beware of Major temperature drops,, that will cause those tpms lights to go crazy..But yeah If that doesn't work, then ChelsDS and tmrepp have the next best step..
It won't go off after reset - if the sensors were changed, the new ID #'s need to be programmed in.
The dealer will charge you for mount and balance plus an hour for the reprogramming. Might as well go to a tire shop and swap out your old sensors into the tC wheels...

yea... i hope you still have your old wheels too.
but it's gonna suck.. is since the ID# for the sensors in your tC wheels were probably not written down anywhere... so you'd have to open those suckers up anyway to get them..
might as well just take your old ones out and put them in while you have the wheel open.

You will need to pull the sensors out of your stock xD wheels. The dealer will not be able to hook up the computer to program the new tC sensors.
Strange I know...but whenever we have to swap wheels we have to swap TPMS sensors as well.

I've seen Camry and tC sensors work on the xD just fine.

Thanks for all the replys. I am not gonna open up the wheels again so I will just get use to my little dashboard yellow light . It reall isn't worth all the trouble to do this twice a year, when I put the stock wheels back on again for winter. So I have a 100.00 set of TC valves that are doing nothing for me. Live and learn!
So you have 2 sets of wheels, winter and summer. Im guessing the winter wheels have the programmed sensors in them and the summer wheels have regular 50cent valve stems. What i suggest, is after you take the summer wheels off, take them to a tire shop and have them put in the TPMS, then balance them. Most likely, they'll charge you for a balancing fee and not much more, since all they have to do is push down that one edge of the tire, to access the valve hole on the wheel. Should probably be around 40 bucks.. Then go to the junk yard, and rip the TPMS control module out of a junked Toyota 2007+(i think, maybe just 200
and mount it next to the other module under the dash. When you're done with thy, switch the harness and go to Toyota to program the 4 sensors to it. Then just switch the harness as you switch wheels/tires for winter and summer
