i know there has been alot of talk about aftermarket cams for the tc engine on this site, alot of threads and ?s have been posted. I have no idea when they are supposed to be released, rumor has it that they are supposed to be available to the public this month or next month, me personally i want and need the hp that im tired of losing races. And im willing to pay for power. I love turbos but id rather have a camd tc.

If ya'll know something that non us scion nerds knows and would help with the wait, SHARE PLEASE!

I'm no expert, but from what i've read, the general concensus on these boards is that a cam would really only be good for a turbo setup.

 

^Yeah. for N/A it wouldn't do much. Our motors aren't the same as Honda's and older Toyota's, cams just wont do much.

As far as after market releases Crower and Comp Cams have both said they have something in the works but no official release date is set.

 

Since our engines rely on timing and not lift, there is no point of installing aftermarlet cams inles you're going F/I. Now if we hand VVTL-i then it would be.

 

^Yeah, it isnt as easy to tune this motor with cams as it would be a honda or older toyota.

I wouldnt say no point, but it would probably give you the same gains as an exhaust and cost twice as much.
