Check your local Best Buy or Circuit City, physically go to the installation department and ask, the phone will most likely get you no-where, also call any local stereo shops, worst case call crutchfield, see if they can send you one. Or just go back to where you bought yours from, let them know its all jacked up and maybe they will help you. regardless good luck, the mute process should be quite simple, its just pulling it out and plucking it in the the whole above where you pulled it out from if i remember correctly. Just take your time nice and slow next time.

i'm gonna call around tomorrow.

does anyone know for a fact of some places that do carry the harness or the very small metal terminals that are on the end of the wire?

sounds like you didn't know how to deal with remaoval and inserting pins... not sure there's much you can do.

i'd try to salvage it and try to make the connection somehow, anyway..

as buying another harness won't be really cheap.. $30 maybe?

unfortunately, i did not know what i was doing.

i found several on ebay though. for about $50!

Call Crutchfield........they are very helpfull and have the harness in stock....I just got one last night.
