Piezo Buzzer problems
I followed a DIY on this forum to make your Tc churp/honk when the car is locked. I went out and got a 12VDC Piezo buzzer (9-16VDC voltage range. 150mA max at 12VDC Current consuption.) from radio shack and got some wire splicers as well. I wanted to see how I liked the churp before I strung wire to the front of the car so I hooked the buzzer straight into the wires. I popped off the white connector and got behind the gray connector to the brown and blue wires with silver stripes/blocks. I spliced black to blue and brown to red and I hooked everything back together as it was before, closed the door and nothing when I locked it.
Nothing either when I lock it from the inside. Any ideas of what I did wrong? I have a 2007 Tc. Thanks for any help!
^Interesting
Which wires are you talkin bout? wires from the factory alarm or the pwr door lock circuit on vehicle? why can't you just hook up straight from the battery if you're just testing how it sounds?
Can you post up a link to that DIY?

I just did this a couple of weeks ago, and i noticed that my wires were different colors(i have an 07 also). The blue was the same, but my brown was...i think pink or something because I was splicing into the alarm plug instead of the actual plug without the alarm. The only things I can think of are:
Check to see if you spliced into the correct wires. Look at the pictures, count the prongs on the back of the plug and make absolutely sure that you are spliced into the correct wires. If you didn't do that, its very possible that you may have spliced into the wrong wire
Also, I'm not sure what kind of splicer you used, but the ones that I use tend to not make a the connection properly unless you squeeze it really tight. That could also be the issue.
Hope this helps a little!

Ok I got it working and I disconnected it and plugged everything back together how it was. But now my passenger window wont roll down from the drivers control and I can't unlock the door from the drivers side control. Anyone know how I was able to mess that up?
I only unplugged a few of the plugs to get them out of the way so is there a certain reset time or something I have to do to get the controls working again? Thanks for any help!
I ran into a problem too...from that thread
".) Maybe it was just me..maybe not. When I read the steps above and actually got to doing the mod, I messed up. I accidentally pulled the white male harness out of female harness thinking that is what OP meant. I could not for the life of me figure how he got there. I also did the same with the grey harness. Then I went to read about the blue and brown wire. Well...if you look at the male part of the grey harness there is a blue and pink wire. I was like WTF?!? What brown wire...it was then I had to take my laptop out and compare pics to see that I pulled the wrong part of the harnesses apart.
So for those who are maybe quick to do this...or skim over the article...or are just plain a dumby (points to self )...make sure you pop the white harness HOLDER off from the grey harness set by using a thin, long flat head screwdriver."

So it chirps, but the passenger window won't roll down and it wont lock from the driver door? Be sure the plugs clicked back in when you plugged them back in, or something may not be making a good connection. If it didn't click, it isn't plugged in all the way.
Also don't forget that if you unplug the window plug (I think it was the white plug near the gray one) you have to do the power window reset deal where you roll it down half way and then roll it back up (talks about it in the manual somewhere).
Make sure the window lock isn't on as well...I can't tell you how many times I have accidentally pushed that button and freaked out because I couldn't roll down the passenger window, hah.
When I did it, i actually spliced into the wires from the front of the gray plug. It made it much easier for me to know for sure I was using the correct wires and everything since my colors were a little different.

wires are the same color. they are in the BACK of the gray harness... I just did this on my 09 the other day.
Unplug the white harness, unplug the gray harness, use a sharp flat head screw driver and pop the white harness HOLDER off of the gray one. Then in the BACK of the gray harness, you will find the brown and blue wires. Splice your positive into the brown, and negative into the blue.
Hint: I used speaker wire and it worked out very well for me.
