Default What's the Best Header for Auto Transmission?

Wanna know which is the best 4-1 header to change to from stock for Auto transmission?

So far I heard from my frens, was don't change, because Auto Car needs back pressure, if the back pressure is reduced, I would loose out on low end and during pick up. Is this true?

If it's not true, then which is the best header out there tat gives the better edge over stock on all levels from low end to high end.

Weapon-R, OBX, Megan, DC... and so on... which one.

Thanks.

I've got the ceramic coated stainless ebay one for 55 bucks coming. I've heard it helps to keep from having the trans downshift while going up hills. The tube sizes are larger than stock but not so large so they will lose lower end power. Can't wait to get it installed to see for myself. Anything other than stock will work great. I just couldn't bring myself to spend the big bucks on a name brand part that sits behind the engine outta sight.

I have the Weapon-R. The 4-2-1 design retains more of the low end torque than a 4-1 design.

I was going to say the exact same thing. It's less a question of brand than design type. If I were to buy a new one, I'd go with a 4-2-1 ceremic coated for low-end torque and less heat build-up. I don't know who all makes that design.

I currently have the Strup 4-1 stainless, I'll be wrapping it and hopefully will see at least a slight increase.

I wonder how hard it would be to wrap the ebay one?

Shouldn't be any more difficult than any other header. It's just tape. If you've ever had a sprained ankle and needed to wrap it with athletic tape, the same technique applies. Start at the top of each pipe, wrap down with an overlap then wrap back up. Just don't tape over the holes.

I've been reading stuff about if you wrap the header it will cause cracks or rust to form. I think I'll just leave it bare. It is coated so it should be fine.

Since the auto would be shifting at lower RPM, I'd say a 4-2-1 header would be best. More expensive than the 4-1 headers that are out there. Since options are limited, maybe the MMW header since it's not coated but you can install the stock heat shield?

Thanks for the feedback.
Still contemplating to choose between Weapon-R and OBX now.

I come across on ebay for OBX 4-1 header for 125.00.

And I checked that Weapon-R only have 1 type header on their website for xB, is it tat one which looks like 4-2-1
http://weapon-r.com/english/index.ph...oducts_id=6230

Which wud be better?
Will the Weapon-R loses out on High end compared to OBX due to it's design but better in LOW end (based on 4-2-1 against 4-1)?

Go with the Weapon R! Most people are never high enough in the RPM range to feel the benefits of a 4-1 design.
