Painted Eyelids - finally finished
It took over 1 and a half months to do everything, mostly working on weekends, but I finally finished my painted fiberglass eyelids.
I put on 3M paint shield - which is hard to trim to fit.
Not perfect, but as good as a backyard paint job can be, I suppose.
Sorry for the blurry pix
1st stage complete - sanding. They were very rough to start with.

2nd stage complete - adhesion promoter

3rd stage - primer

4th stage - putty in some of the small holes

5th stage complete - basecost

6th stage complete - wet sand

7th stage - 3M protection

Finally installed - fit isn't quite right.

So there you have it. As I said, not perfect, but you get the idea. I'll trim the #m at some point.
What's the verdict? Pass or Fail?

Hmm, the driver's side looks more off than the passenger side...
I agree with you on the driver's side, it's waaaayyyy off. Props for originality.
Now after you fix the driver's side you should look into 'cleaning up' the headlights. Clear the side marker and get some mirrored/chromed blinker bulbs. Getting rid of the amber will make those headlights look pretty sweet. Add the Bat-A-Rang Eyelids (I just named your eyelids, you know from Batman
) and the headlights could look really sharp.
GL.
i would have to say that i like the custom work and props to you on that but i dont really like them....maybe if it was straight across....but i like the idea....it just didnt come out perfect.....it looks great other than that.....
Thanks for the comments everybody.
I have to say, the more I look at them, the less in love with them I am.
I'm going to try to adjust the driver's side and see if I can get it lined up better.
