Default Car Wash Chips Paint/Rims

I am so FIRED up....

I took my car to a local car wash to spray it off and the hose chipped my rims and chipped the paint off my mirror, pictures below...

I'm going down to talk to the owner of the car wash tomorrow. What do you guys think about it, how should I go about pursuing this bull____...

You should already know pressure hoses COULD do that...

Was a do-it-your-self or a place where people do it for you?

If it was a do-it-your-self, don't even bother.

WHAT BIG NO NO!

You have to complain and they have to fix it. I used to work at a car wash before (5 years ago) and when ever something happened the companies insurance had to pay the customer!

Like mentioned above, if you were in the self serve area, you are SOL because you have no way of proving to them that it happened there. If it was through a tunnel wash, then you should absolutely return right away and let them know.

I do hope it was an automated carwash so there is some liability on their part but you have to act fast so they don't claim you did it yourself.
However, if its the self-wash stalls by the corner then it'll be impossible to claim because it will be difficult to prove it was from their neglect that caused the damages.

Either way, good luck to ya. At least it's only cosmetic.

Yeah stop using the high pressure places........if you do step back when you spray......about 6 feet back.........it does not take much to pull off paint .

Wanna hear a funny story? Those wheels you have, same ones I have. They can not be correctly color matched back to stock. They are painted in England with a lead based paint. Thats what gives the wheels their depth. Here in America you can not use lead based paint(something about dumb people licking it), If your a stickler like myself your pretty boned unless they either buy a new wheel or respray all 4.

yeah, i guess I'm buying new rims...

it was a manual car wash with the high pressure wash hose...i really wasn't that close, not 6 feet away, but not 6 inches away either....

the people that own the car wash own a 24 hour mini mart too, i stopped by and a kid i graduated with is a manager and i asked him who i talk to about it and he said him, so i told him waht happened and he basically said that i'm just trying to blame them and told me that the best he could do was give me a token for a free automatic car wash...

it makes me so mad cause its going to bug me so much and although i've never used nor seen it, i can't see touch up paint looking that well

oh yeah, @ the car bein dirty, i quit spraying it after the paint chipped...

For the rims, just custom paint them yourself. Give it your own style There are a lot of DIY here in SL on how to cleanly do it.

Yeah painting them wouldn't probably be a bad idea, i wanna do the interior in an orange so maybe I'll do them black and pin stripe them orange, that'd be hott...

new mirror installation, would it be just like unplug old mirror, plug in new mirror type of deal?

That could look pretty good .........are you thinking about the interior being orange with just lights or are you gonna do the cloth too.....I did my lights in orange front to back inside and it looks great.......

The mirror comes right off.......inside of door at the top is the triangle piece.......just grab and pull.......comes right off...then undo the harness and unscrew the mirror....takes under 10 minutes......
