Default Her first ride in the xB.

I took my girlfriend on her fisrt ride in my new box with all of 50 miles on the ODO. When she sat in it, and we started to talk, there was an echo like it was a huge massive interior, and a huge massive vehicle. She said "this is a big car". "I feel like a little pea in here."

We both loved it. The way it drove.......the way you feel in it.........the way people look at you in it. Just loved it.

After she said how big the interior was, I took her up to the store and parked in front of this huge Chevy Avalanche. When we started to walk away, I told her to turn around and look. We both broke out laughing !!!

Here was this little box that you feel so small in, cause it has so much room, parked in front of a huge truck that has NO room in it. WHAT AN ILLUSION THE LITTLE BOX IS !!!

She said "I bet he has a little 'you know what' to drive such a big truck".
I said " he's stupid too. I get 33 MPG's, and he get's about 8 MPG's. "

I love it !!

That reminds me. A few years ago five friends of mine were going to take a trip from North Carolina to Montana to Arizona and back. Since none of them had a car that could carry five guys and their gear they wanted to rent an Explorer. I warned them that there's not as much room in SUVs as they think and that they'd probably be happier with a minivan, or even better, a full-size van. I reminded them of a dive trip to Florida in a minivan where we had room to recline, stretch out and sleep. They turned up their noses at the thought of a van. Not macho enough. When they got back from three weeks on the road I asked if they wished they'd taken a van. Yup.

I think Scion could make a good tongue in cheek slogan out of it:

It's so cavernous, it's almost like there's an Echo inside."

I also want to recreate that dumb Aveo ad but for real. Get four guys 6 foot or better. Have them get out of the xB and into an Aveo or a Mini Cooper, even many SUVs...

Have you sat in an AVEO? It is just as roomy inside like the BOX but Yes do one with the mini or an escape

I don't understand what you're getting at. The Avalance serves a purpose just as the xB does. The guy/girl that owns it bought it for a different reason than we bought the xB for so I don't get the animosity.

Yeah, the Avalance owner might think you are stupid when he is remodeling his house and slides a stack of 4x8" sheets of plywood and drywall and carries some 12 foot 2x4's. The XB is a cool little ride, but I don't get why most every enthusiest thinks its the greatest ride in the world.

can you really fit a stack of 4x8 plywood in an avalance? would you want to after paying all
that $$$ for one? what a mess! and I don't think the bed is long enough...

they only big SUV that I've seen swallow 4x8 sheets of plywood is an old (93)
Suburban. you could lie them totally flat and start stacking. plus it's all metal.
and the doors shut. DONE.

those avalance's are plastic, overpriced, don't even get me started. a friend @ work has one
and he loves the mileage he gets commuting in the thing. what a waste.

take a look @ what people use as a hauling rig around your neighborhood. I see a lot of $500-$1k beater full shize pickups, that can really haul ____ around, not some candy ___ $40k
wannabe truck...

ok, sorry, they just drive me nuts. it's great if you want one, but IMHO, they are a waste

Do whatever you like and don't worry about what other people are doing if it doesn't affect you. This is a good philosophy for life as well as cars.
