Default Just got rid of a $500 ticket - Page 1

Long story short.. got a $500 for my tints, license plate cover and exhaust last monday. Took everything out except headers and CAI. Took the car to DMV and they passed my car in 1 second of looking at it. My mom got signed off the ticket so I don't have to pay for ____.. Took me 8 days to take care of everything without going to court, getting a court date or licking the cops ___.. NOTHING!

For all you haters..

good luck with your tickets.
I got a ticket for tint last week, The State Trooper just told me to pay for it . He didnt' ask me to take it off.
He stop me because i was doing 83 in 65, He just gave me a warning for speeding.

Where do you live? State troopers can ticket you without measuring the UV in CT. If you don't have the little white sticker from an inspector at the DMV they have the right to ticket you. The exhaust ticket and license plate cover is bull____, fight that.

How can you complain? You onviously know you were wrong because you rolled yoru windows down so he couldnt see, and you tried to not make your exhuast loud.

Own up to the mistake and take it as a lesson.

I would fight that they didn't measure your tint you could win this case easily. And whats the law in your state for exhaust? What happens if you have an older car and your muffler falls off but you can't affored OEM and you need a replacement? My cousin had the same ____ happen to him when he had his sound system competition F150. He had his tints set to the state allowance and also had an aftermarket exhaust. He took the officer to court and got a cease and desist on him.

^ read my post 06siHubby

They dont need to measure it, CT has a sticker that is given when it passes the standards at the DMV. If you dont have the sticker you can get ticketed.

Unfortunately, sometimes when you 'play' you gotta pay.
If you decide to fight this, GL with your outcome because it's going to be tough.

10 days!??! That's straight jokes right there - I've never heard of anything less than 30 days to pay any fine but tough break...I wouldn't even go back and have to deal with that trooper again..I'd just take my chances paying the fine by check/online and keep it moving

Yeah I read it afterwords. Sorry about the CT state law in Ga they had to do on the spot check before they issued any tickets on tints. That's how my cousin won in court.

A cop cant enforce a violation if they do not see an offense. By rolling down his windows, theres not reason for a cop to ask him to roll them without probable cause. (there is no reason to roll them up since they cop has full view of the driver, and there isnt anything suspicious) Thats where it becomes unfair for topic creator.

You still have to roll them up if they ask, but you could "officially" declare that you do not consent to rolling them down.

You broke the law now you pay the fine. Shut up and move on.

Is anyone else sick of these type od threads where people break the law then get bitter when they get caught ?

sigh, everyone is going on about how he broke the law move on yada yada. Put yourself in his position, the license plate cover and exhaust are bull, and I would argue the tint (although that sounds like the only legit thing the cop had on him). 10 days, I have a feeling youll have more then 10 days. This cop sounds like a real jerk. Fight it!

your 06 car didn't get a warning for the tint....you did. All that proved to him when you tried to argue that on the spot was that you didn't learn your lesson the first time.

Since I work with a lot of Law Enforcement, I can tell you that your 06 comment of contesting his judgement put him into "well I need to run things by the book mode" , so it seems like you got a Free Car Inspection by the CT Highway Patrol.

When are people going to learn to say "Yes Sir." Even if you disagree, take it to court and explain it there. If you did something wrong, grow some man-nuts and take some accountability for your actions.

it you have the header like in your pic and aftermarket exhaust i could see why it sounds over the level. if you keep having trouble with it go get a db meter from radio shack and keep it in your car, if you get stopped for that again pull it out and show the cop

i'm glad middle tennesse police aren't like that, at least brentwood, pretty much all the tuners know more than the cops and the cops know that. plus there are several ferraris and lambos in the city so there aren't many cars louder than those =]
