Default Brake Nosie...

Ok so i am new to the small car club (GMC truck owner)... I was wondering if the sound i keep hearing from the rear brakes is normal. It sounds like they are shifting when i release them... I hear it when i first hit them after i go in reverse... Just making sure...

Default brake noise

I also hear a noise when I am backing up and apply the brakes. It's a "clicking noise"

I have a similar clunking noise that happens only when braking on my xA 2006.

the noise happens only once in a while, apparently after the car has been parked sometime, turning, going up or down a hill or sometimes braking hard (but I have never been able to reproduce it clearly with the toyota mechanic... so they don't believe me...!)
But trying to replicate the noise under the same condition is not possible. It's a bit random.

it doesn't depend on the speed. it happened at high speed on the freeway when braking on an exit ramp, or in parking lots when parking.

it seems to come from the back but sometimes it seems to be from the front.

it sounds like something knocking on a metallic part. it is sometimes very loud and sometimes soft.

It started after the second oil change/tire rotation I think.

could it be really only the pads moving a bit sometimes?
Toyota checked 2 times the suspensions, brakes, power train etc... and told me there is nothing wrong (it was under warranty... so I don't trust them there ).
