Default Rear Bumper Protector Question

Anyone who has the new rear bumper guard/protector (747-52180):

Is the SCION text an actual cutout, or is it just off-white? In other words, can you see the body paint color through the words?
Thanks!

From what I have read it is an actual cut out, so you see your paint through it.

I've got it. It is a cut out. I think it looks great on all colors.

What is it made out of? I keep hearing the new ones don't really work for protecting the rear bumper because they are really thin.

I'd say it's a heavy vinyl and it's textured too. Does not look thin or cheap imo. Here are pix of mine:

Yeah it is definitely a cut out like Shancopp said. So the color of your car will be the SCION logo on the back. I have to agree with Shancopp, it is pretty heavy duty doesn't look cheap at all.

BTW, Hi Shancopp. This is callmemrbill on newsscionxb.com

It does not work to bad. I have it on my RS 5.0. But it will be removed this weekend to be repleaced with one that covers the edge of the bumper too. I go camping, biking and blading and the edge will take a beating even if I try to be careful. Plus let me tell you when it comes to waxing the factory bumper guard sucks because the wax is hard to get out of it.

Where are you purchasing it from? That's exactly what I want (one that covers the edge of the bumper) & NOT say "SCION" on it.

Wow, you guys are great! Such a quick response - I'm really going to like being a part of this forum!

I was hoping that I could get the old one without the cutout because someone has already scratched my bumper. I figured this would be a great solution but the scratch is right where the cutout would be.

Anyone know who's still selling the old model (the one without the cutout), or had any luck placing something under the cutout?
Thanks!

Got one on ebay ( DeLand Toyota). No cutout, but thick plastic and hangs over the bumper about 3/8 inch. Seems like better protection.

This one looks a little gray in the picture. Is yours gray or black?

Think of it as a dark charcoal. I have some pics of my own of it under the aero and exterior under the post titled something like New Rear Bumper Guard.
