Thanks - did you choose that one instead of the OEM cover because it has a bit of a lip that goes over the bumper?

That's the reason I bought it, that and the fact that its actually hard molded plastic instead of just a sticker.

Here's a pic of mine installed.

Yes and it is way more durable. Plus it is a Toyota southern region part so it carries the same warranty as any other Toyota part.

Did anybody notice that this protector makes the car look like mom's mini SUV instead of the cool car it is?

Heck I'd get the Scion one and if I thought the front edge would scratch then I'd put on a little clear vinyl (the type they use on the wheel well area.

Ok kind of funny that the ones that think it looks like that are the older folks and the younger ones are the ones that seem to have it on their B. Not trying to start anything, just seems funny.

As one of the "older folks" I would think that we would be the ones most interested in such a good utilitarian add-on. I also feel that it would only look soccer-mom-ish on a bone stock xB. IMHO, if you've got aftermarket plus-size wheels & tires, drop springs, tint, rear spoiler, etc.; nobody's gonna notice a bumper protector as "oh, that looks like mom's mini SUV.

I also think the black bumper protector matches up well with the dark privacy glass, and serves as a nice contrast to the paint on SW, CSM, and GRM. I'll be getting it after I put the first good scratch in the top of my bumper.

I'm all for utility with this little car, thats why I put it on. But yes, that thought did cross my mind after I installed it.

Hope I do this right.

1st the appearance is great. Don't get me wrong.

Still, as much as we love and praise each others additions, we must also tease unmercifully.

But just look at this Caravan pic with the one above and this ones an applique.

You can't help notice.

No doubt the one you guys are getting is going to protect much more than the Scion stick on. My box is coming up on 1 year old and zero scratches yet I'm single and don't have to pull stuff in and out all the time, so the weeny protector with the logo is just right.

I do agree with you. But for what I need it for it will work out much better then the other Scion one.

Yes, I saw that one while surfing Ebay the other day. It has some writing on it, that I can't make out, and is similar in surface coverage to the genuine scion w/cutout.

Hmmmmmmmm

I really like the one with the lip coverage if I needed to have it., It's just, married with kids looking, and I'm single no kids nor grand kids. lol

I'm 36 years old with 4 kids, and I agree that the beefier (non-sticker) protector looks a bit mivi-van-ish...but on the other hand, the top of my bumper is getting beat to **** with all of the crap the kids constantly drag in and out of the back, so it's more of a survival issue for my poor short-bus...

Can you find out what kind of Vinyl? I have an BSP '08 xB, and have been thinking of getting the rear Bumper protector. Putting the colored vinyl down would be pretty cool,
but black on black, not too good.

Red would look good. Or perhaps the right shade of blue. Something that would match the blue of the underdash/cupholder illumination (which I have).
