1. You can, but I'd advice a better head unit.
2. Depends, like the undergarments. Too many variables to pinpoint one single subwoofer and amplifier. Depends on what YOU want.
3. Anywhere you want.
4. www.fiberglassforums.com Do some reading.
You're welcome.

1) Well that depends, you can keep your factory radio and use in-line RCA audio attenuators to run it to your amps. If you want cleaner sound and better EQ options I would go with an aftermarker Head Unit with at least 3v (5v is better) outputs on the RCA's. Pioneer, Alpine, and Kenwood are all great, and I've owned them all...
2) Again, that depends on your taste in music... If you like fast tempo music like techno / Dn'B or Industrial / Rock then I wouldnt recommend a sub bigger than a 12" because it will start to sound sloppy... 15's are great for low bass lines for Rap and such... If your on a budget look into some Kicker Comp's, Alpine Type-R's, Fosgate Stage 1 or 2 subs... For amps, I loved my Fosgate 1000w RMS amp I had, that thing was a beast, I also owned Alpine amps as well... Try to stay away from the cheaper companies like Crunch, Pyle, Jenson or any Wal-Mart brand stuff... When your buying audio equipment NEVER pay attention to the MAX wattage, always look at the RMS (Root Means Square) as this is your TRUE power... A box is also important, ported boxes are better at getting a lower bass note at the cost of distortion, where as a sealed box has more thump to it - with less distortion and some reduction in lower end bass...
3) The trunk is the popular place for installing subs and amps, unless your looking for something custom... Chances are that picture you posted is custom work...
If your running over a 1000+ watts look into either getting a higher amp battery (Optima Yellow Top) or Capacitor (1 Farad at least)... Power wires must meet your amps current draw, most people are fine with 4awg wire...
Hope it helps...

I would reccomend a new headunit, for better sound quality.
As far as amps and subs go, it depends on what kinda music you're into. If you're into rock, and want nice tight punchy bass, look into a more SQ oriented woofer, such as the Fi Q. If you're into relentless skull splitting rap music, look into SPL oriented drivers, such as the Fi BL or BTL. Amps should match your woofer.
