Emanage tuning help - anyone know anything about this?
Hey!
So, if you haven't seen this before, I'm finishing up an install on my xb. You can see the details here: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=163881
I put the Emanage Blue on with the base map it came pre-installed with from ZPI. I tried cranking it several times and no luck. Holding the gas down works for a while... it will stay about 3k rpm for 45 seconds or so and then shut off on it's own. Working with that Monday I got it tuned enough to idle smooth, crank without additional help and actually drove it around the block. I came back to it the next day and nothing. It wouldn't crank again. I thought maybe it was because by the time I got it set, it had warmed up.
I pulled the codes and got p0351, p0352, p0353 and p0354 which are all injector codes for misfire, fouled plugs, shorted wires etc. So, I pulled the spark plugs (which are brand new NGK Iridium 1 stage colder than OEM) and they were completely black with soot and oil. I cleaned them, but they still wouldn't fire.
I'm going to put new plugs in, but if the tune is that far off, it's just going to foul the next set as well.
I can't pull A/F because I have to get it to the shop to have them fix the bung for the sensor. I have to tune it to get it to the shop. I need the A/F gauge to tune it!?!?
See my delimma?
Can anyone help me or tell me how to get this running enough to limp it over to the shop? I can post the Map screenshots of what it came with, what it ran at, fuel pressure numbers, oil pressure numbers, boost/vac. numbers, etc.
A quick run-down of what's there... 370 cc injectors in a perrin fuel rail, dc sports ceramic 4-1 header, mitsu 14b, 2" exhaust to axle-back greddy evo 2, perrin lightened pulley and... I believe that's all in the power exchange cycle that would have to do with this tune. I do have two small holes in the exhaust at the welds that they missed and the turbo seals may be gone (pushing oil out charge pipe and exhaust.
Thanks in advance guys!
Jason

a blown turbo seal would be a big or the major cuase of your bad plugs im sure. im no F/I guru but id check that seal. make sure you have the emanage hooked up right too. check all the connections to your injectors agian and check your plug wires make sure their good too, if all else fials unhook the blue, it should run well enough to limp it to the shop. just go very easy on it.
thanks... that worked great. I pulled the U/J pipe off the charge side of the intercooler and unhooked the emanage and it cranked fine. not even a CEL. running weird fuel pressures but the bigger inj are still in.
