Hey All!
Does anyone have an opinion or first hand experience with the Kenwood wOOx sub?
http://kenwoodusa.com/product/product.jsp?productTypeId=52&sortBy=price&productId=742

I want to have something to take bass and don't want too much power. I am looking for something that will tuck away without eating up available space.

Is there something that could just replace one of the existing speakers that could handle bass well or would doing this hurt the stock sound of the remaining speakers?

There is a Echo subwoofer that is 8" offered as an option. I was wondering if that could tuck away nice and neat somewhere in the xB.

Cool...

if you're looking for paht bass with a minimum of storage area loss i'd go with the Image Dynamics ID 12 subwoofer and the SPFR sub enclosure for the xB

i'm getting mine this week (yeah!) - wicked bass, and you don't loose any trunk space aside from the tiny storage area under the rear hatch.

there are at least 10 people in TSW rocking these enclosures, and they all love them - you should roll out to a meet and check them out first hand!

I saw that!
Yeah, I really like the fact that it can be pretty sunk into the floor. Could you still put stuff on top of it? I was wondering if you could. If not could there be one that could take the place of a stock speaker?
Are there controls for the SPFR Sub? How can a sub be controlled from the deck or is that even possible? The infinity basslink and Kenwood wOOx have wired remotes from what I have read.
As you can see I have never had a subwoofer before...

From what I have heard personally, I was not to impressed with the kenwood setup. Go with SPFR if you want something like that. Just what I think.

as for sub control it all depends on your headunit and amp - my kicker 550.3 amp has a remote sub control that i can wire up, but my clarion headunit also has a remote sub control, which i'll be using instead.

and yes, if you put a grate over the sub, you can totally put stuff on top of it, in fact some people have the cargo mat laid over the top and it still sounds phat!

SPFR 12 " ID Sub is under $550.00...is that what (installed?) subs go for?

The Bazooka is $429.00 without installation if after purchase...

i got the bazooka N.O.S. sub with a 300W Bazooka Amp for around 200 bucks at frys and used the line out convertor with the stock radio to control it..sounds really good (better than some 12" subs that i have heard). but DEFINATELY do not go with any sub setup from kenwood. In my experience, kenwoods are good for high bass and a cleaner sound. But, if u want it to pound...i'd go with something else

OK see, that's what I was thinking for me: nice, clear and clean sound. Muchas gracias! No need to rock my Box. I'm not too concerned with poundage, and I don't have a CAI moving my xB to have to drown out the noise of (at least not yet  !)

Not decided yet, still on the hunt...

I might also be one of the few that think this but, I like the sound of the stock stereo...

What I do think is something that's missing is the scrolling text that is present in the head unit of the Lexus is300 six disc. I love seeing all that info and crap moving (by itself no less!) across the readout! The first time I saw that I was like "OooOOooOOoo...." I wish that was a Scion option.
Obviously, I do not get out much...

Do many aftermarket head units have this available? Is this how the Scion six disc is?

cai sounds are good and should not be drowned out!

Ummm...my bad.
I meant to say that "---my subwoofer shouldn't be too powerful so as to not overpower the sweet symphony of rushing air that would be my someday to be installed CAI..."

Good CAI, good CAI. Attaboy! Good CAI.

But, seriously I hope that when I do install my CAI eventually, I'll be loving that rush.

Does anyone know who made the Echo sub that is offered as an option?
That little pup is 8" I believe.

With the Bazooka sub is it controllable from the stock head unit?

Again, wondering...
