straightsilver21 05-29-2008, 07:15 PM DAP weldwood contact cement "high temp resistant"
OR
DAP weldwood high temp spray adhesive.
both can be purchased here. http://www.yourautotrim.com/glues.html
i live on LI and the weather is weird here,... hot, cold, hot, cold, rainy, dry, humid...in one day... and those are the only glues ive found that hold up quite well. all the 3M stuff ive tried has sucked.
Need4Bass05 05-29-2008, 07:18 PM Any pics of what you did?
flintMicaTC 05-29-2008, 07:25 PM i'm watching too
yellowxhoodie 05-29-2008, 08:54 PM hmmm, guess ill trash the 3M crap ive got laying around in favor of some better stuff.
StreetStarsTc 05-29-2008, 10:29 PM i used 3m80 and its fine but you need to spray very carefully and it may not hold up....either way im redoing my headliner
straightsilver21 05-29-2008, 11:47 PM yeah, ill post up pics soon, hopefully tomorrow.
my camera is dead and tomorrow im starting my turbo install so ill be taking pics anyway.
yeah the weldwood is barely more pricey but the hold is solid.

Need4Bass05 05-30-2008, 12:39 AM You have prob been asked alot but how many yards to you buy for that, I am actually going to price some white micro suede out tomorrow. I'm just curious how much I should buy + extra
sweetdreamz 05-30-2008, 02:45 AM I did my door panels last weekend w/ 3M 77. By the next day a couple of parts came loose once it got hot outside. Made some calls and got 2 recommendations. DAP weldwood as previously mentioned and 3M general trim adhesive. I went w/ the 3M since I couldn't get the DAP locally. I still have to put the door panels back on tomorrow so I can't honestly say how well it will turn out but I'll keep everyone posted. I can say that it seemed like a much better product while I was using it.
Need4Bass05 - I bought 3 yds to do front/rear panels and armrest. I had about a 1/2 left over. You should be fine w/ that.
Garage1217 05-30-2008, 02:55 AM weldwood FTMFW Most will find out why it is better after 50K miles and there panels are coming loose, headliners are drooping :)
tweetertc 05-30-2008, 06:27 AM Any High temp upholstery glue works well for your headliner..
but in fact... its usually hard to find.. well.. at least in smaller quantities instead of the usual 5 gallon drums i buy it in...
yellowhoodie... if you want let me know... i can grab you some good stuff and bring it to the next SE meet...
Big_Jim 05-30-2008, 06:30 AM for wrapping pannels in the car, i use a HVLP spray gun, and spray contact cement. you can buy a pint of it from walmart, and if you're careful apply it with a brush. Make sure you apply it to both surfaces though.
straightsilver21 06-02-2008, 11:43 PM meant to post pictures but found out my battery in my camera is dead, that an an issue i ran into installing my turbo kit has taken up most of my time recently, ill take pics definitely tomorrow.
