This is an interesting one. The hit-and-run itself is bad enough, but the lack of response by the public is the most shocking part...

Wow... don't move to that city!

Thats just so wrong with how little reaction the people showed when the guy was hit. Then again he was jay walking... karma perhaps? :ponder:

umm... no one noticed that someone just got hit by a car? i mean, its not rocket surgery, help the guy! i dont like seeing vids like this because this is how my great grandmother died, someone hit her and left the scene. it's disgusting how people can do such a thing...

that's how one of my cousins died too :-( He was getting off the school bus and a lady drove by the bus at about 65 mph and he died on impact. She didn't even hesitated to stop or something.

The worst part was that even though his brain was dead, my auntie didn't wanted to disconnect him from the machines till a week lafter the accident.

This country is so sad. Slowly destroying each other. Won't be a nuke that destroys us, it's the dumb@ss people that live here.

Wow! Some people are just friggin amazing... :tap:
Back in '96, I actually hit a pedestrian who ran out in front of me and threw him back about 200ft. I made a U-turn and returned to the scene and stayed there till the cops showed up. He was laid out, on the ground, not responding but he was still alive...

This video reminds me of that day... :nails:

Similar situation, only what upset me is the video shows the adults in the family cross the street without even making sure the child was with them.
By the way I am a firm believer in the crosswalk, yet I do yield to idiots that jaywalk.

Scoiety is horrible if people are able to just walk on by. I witnessed a guy hit by a car infront of my house. I was out there doing everything I could to stop the bleeding and help. He dies 30 days later. It sickens me to think people could just drive by like that!

Yeah I saw that on tv last night, and that's what shocked me the most too. The adults just left the kid behind and no one was looking out for him. Sometimes kids don't know any better, but adults should always know better. Now the kid is dead. The driver is obviously responsible here, but the parents also bear some responsibility for what happened.

WTF!! they both tried cutting off the truck and hit the guy, but here is the thing too the guy crossing shouldn't of had because it looked abit busy and you know majority of the people don't have respect by stopping and let one pass by.

Looks to me like they were racing or just driving like idiots. It's a double yellow, not a one-way street which is why the man crossed, no cars were coming from the left. So the two cars illegally passed the vehicle and struck the man who was already up to the center line.

If you didn't see the news clip, no one even called 911. An officer was responding to a call and just happen to be going down that way. Witnesses said his skull was cracked open and blood was everywhere...uh I think I would have rendered aid. I would have taken my freaking jacket off to help him..but those idiots don't want to get blood on their Fubus.

1. It's sad that the person in white (around 34 seconds) walked out there to see what happened and then turned around and left.

2. He was jaywalking.

Another video on youtube said the guy was paralyzed and not a single person called 911.

Studies have proven that the more people around, the less chance someone will attempt to be a hero and help. Society today is ____ed up.

That's what I meant. There was 25+ people walking around on the sidewalk, PLUS 10+ cars drove by. Atleast 50 people in view, and not one did anything. In today's society, if it was less than 5 people, someone would have stepped up and tried to do something about it.

i've been concerned about this trend for a while now. people insulate themselves from what goes on around them. i was waiting in line to vacuum my car at the corner convenience store, and the lady in front of me had everything, including her purse, on top of her car. i looked up and saw a young guy on a cell phone walking closer to her car, so i opened my door, and sure enough, the guy grabbed the purse and ran. i instinctively took off after him as fast as i could go, but i didn't have shoes on. i was wearing flip-flops, which were in my car still. i chased him through a neighborhood yelling at people to stop the thief, and everyone, including bigger guys, just kind of stood there watching. i was so ____ed that they could have stopped him easily. i finally stopped after he jumped a fence and got into a waiting car. i didn't really want to mess with whatever weapons they had in that car. i couldn't believe people would just stand there looking instead of doing something to help. :tap:

sometimes it has a lot to do with the demographics too. Sadly, people in urban or innercities and even out in rural areas tend to turn a blind eye or feel it's not their responsiblity and someone else will do it.

Race probably played a factor too. Dude was Hispanic.

Isn't there a good samaratan law in the United Kingdom? Maybe it is time to have a law like that in the United States.

If it is true that not one person called 911, then that is wrong. What's more important? A human life or being late for work.

To whom ever was on that street at that moment: You people disgust me. A poor man is lying there in pain, and no one did anything?

It breaks my heart to see something like that. My sympathy to the person's family.

I saw this on the news Friday. It's really sad to see that no-one even cared or did anything. They just kept walking by this poor guy like it was normal! I hope they catch the idiot who did this! And i hope eveyone is ashamed of not trying to help. Not 1 single 911 call came in about this. There were plenty off ppl on their phones, but no one could call 911???

Here's the news report clip, chances are if you've seen the vid, you clicked on the related stories too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSEMAqXoQpk&feature=related

It's just shameful. My brother looked over to see what the heck I was lookin at and he was shocked also. It looked like sort of a car chase he said, I'd might have to agree.
