Default Hotchkis Sway Install

Hey guys

I just purchased a set of the Hotchkis sway bars, probably going to arrive sometime next week. My issue is that I do not have the tools, mostly anything to put the car up on, in order to install. I did a sway install on an older Civic once so once I see it I am sure the rear install would be easy. I know the front is a biscuit to install though.

Anyone have any idea what the install cost would be?

Also, is anyone in the Long Island area interested in making a couple of bucks or getting a case of beer for helping?

Thanks

I can tell you from my experience, a dealership in Northwest Houston wanted to charge me $300 in labor (3 hours) to install the front anti-sway bar. And then they insisted on re-alignment so $400 in total.

I'd do it if I was near NY, $400 isn't a bad price for the install, you have to drop the front subframe, and anyone that has done that before knows it's a PITA, BUMP, hope someone takes you up on the offer..........but feel free to send me a case of beer if you want, lol

i would probably do the 300 with the dealer but tell them that the sway wont affect your alignment, unless they go in there and mess with your tie rods or stuff. . when dropping your car i would preform an alignment, but not after a sway bar upgrade...

wrong, if you drop the sub frame your not going to align it up 100% right so your wheel alignment that was on the car will be slightly off thus why its a good idea to get the front end re-aligned after a front sway bar install

rear sway bar you can just stick in and not worry about anything thats why a lot of people like to go with the TRD or Progressive rear sway instead of the hotchkis sway set

Yes, but the Hotchkis set is much more aggressive. Hence the purchase.

Oh well ... I will see if I can find somewhere decent to get it done without getting bent over.

i cant imagine it being that far out of wack, especially seen as how the bolts only have one way to go, and if its that big of a deal why not take the extra precaution and mark off where the subframe goes. it might take a bit longer, but it shouldnt mess with the alignment,... at least i have never heard/seen/witnessed it before.

if you mark the subframe in relation to the body and line up the marks you'll have a better chance of it not being out of alignment, but it probably would be a good idea to check it and be safe, cause it's not worth eating through tires to save a couple bucks

i had mine installed by Rick at KK Auto and Tire in Lynbrook. It took like 2 hours. If you get em installed anywhere make sure they have extra lube casue they will make alot of noise if not lubed up enough (kendall super blu lube works best)

What kind of noise does it make? reason im askin is cuz I got mine installed and now I can hear a clunking/knocking sound coming from the rear sway. I took it back to the guy and he said its probably the endlinks, but I've asked others and they said they haven't had issue with the endlinks making noise

Where did you get yours installed? I'm gonna attempt to install the front one on Saturday but in case I can't get it out then I'll have a back up plan
