loss of power/ fuel economy after jumpstarting a Buick
Hey folks
Longtime no post. I jumped a neighbor's Buick land yaghct a few weeks ago and noticed lower power and fuel economy levels. I replaced my Injen filter, cleaned the air/fuel mixture sensor (with special cleaner) and still have the same problem. No check engine light or any other diagnostic warning.
Could the jump start (with engine running) have messed with the ignition/plugs?
What should I do to check it out?
Thanks!!
-Jamie (just moved to LA so if y'll recommend a good repair shop on the west side, I'd love to know)

It was daylight when I did the jump so, no, I did not notice any flicker. If there was an alternator problem, wouldn't I notice a battery drain? Its been a month and the battery is fine.
I am thinking maybe you kilt your battery and its enough to start your car, but the alt is constantly charging it causing sluggish performance. Any shops near you to check the output of the alt at idle? I have a wireless alt meter from snapon, but am in va.
You would just need to place the wire along a crease in the back of the meter and it will read the amp output. They also make clamp on meters to for digital multimeters.
