Does anyone else notice the resemblance between the baby Mercedes in the pics at this site and our little xA? Reports state that the larger version will be offered in NAmerica initially, with the smaller one going to Europe. I'm guessing it's only a matter of time, though, before they bring the mini Benz here, too. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
The outside looks a LOT like an xA! Their interior is a tad nicer though.

Yeah but the Benz won't be under $15K that's for sure!

I like the xa's exterior better.. although the interior does seem like its 10x times better on the benz in build quality... there's just too much going on on the outside of the benz's...

Sometimes a bit of simplicity offers the best luxury :D
I'll be sticking to my xA for a while thank you very much!

Now THAT is an arm rest! If I just had the extra $30 or $40K......
Bet the Toyota made xA is more dependible too.

It won't cost $30-40k. If you read it, you'll notice they want it to be a competitor with the VW Golf. This mean it will most likely be priced around $16-18k. I don't see it selling to well, your paying a Mini Cooper price for a car which I'm sure will be seen as similiar to a Scion/Aveo/Fit et al. The only reason Mini gets away with charging loffty prices is the cult following. Please remeber that the C-Class Coupe starts at $27,000, so a base of 17,000 would not be a shock on this car, with options topping around $25k. Also Mercedes intends to sell limited numbers of the "SMART" car hear...smoking dope if you aks me.

No, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was in the low 20k range.
MB is considered a luxury brand in the US, with prices to match, but in Europe they have more pedestrian models, at more reasonable prices. MB is now competing in the US with the upscale models from Japan and coming out behind on both tech and reliability.
The other bad thing is that some of the smaller MBs look like Toyotas from the rear! :)

That's what I thought when I first saw the Mercedes Vision B model, but I read that Mercedes first showed the design in 2002:
http://www.whnet.com/4x4/pix/cst_1.jpg
It was planned as a 2006 model for the US, possibly assembled in Alabama, and selling for $24,000 with 140hp engine. I think it's actually 18+ inches longer than the xA.
