power??

power??
I just added a cigarette outlet under my rear seat for my kids to plug things into. My question is where would be a good, safe place to tap into for power? I would like it to be on accessory so that I dont end up with a dead battery from things being left plugged in. I know these newer cars are very picky about voltage and dont want to screw anything up by overloading a circuit. And I would prefer not to have to put it on a toggle switch. Any suggestions or definate no no's would be great! Thanks!!

i would say use the existing outlet wiring.
my circuit runs a GPS and a radar detector on the existing outlet with a splitter.
my scion headrest dvd players are also running off the circuit. no problems here, never a popped fuse except for the time i tried to plug in my ps3

Thanks for the advice guys! I am also running a splitter up front for gps and phones, I just thought that when the kids plugged in the portable dvd player and a gameboy charger it would overload that circuit.
But if the scion dvd players are on that circuit it should be fine to run a phone charger, gps, portable dvd, and a gameboy charger on that circuit I guess. let me know if you think I am about to do something bad.
Thanks again!
