Althought my cars not really the definition of rice, it does have some aspects of being a ricer. All show no go, Blue underbody lighting. And you know what, i think those days are over for me. I remember last year when ever my underbody kit would break, i'd be under my car fixing it the very next day. This year... I've had it broken for the past month and I really don't give a poop anymore. Hell somone could go ahead and just rip it right off my car and i'd consider them doing me a favor. It seems like last year I wanted to impress people, Show up places with the underbody blazin and subs blastin. Now i don't give a poop what people say about my whip, I feel like I just want more powa. More turn, more of a WEEEEEEEEEEE feeling LOL!
. I'm really looking into either getting a turbo come winter time or just droppin the tC and getting an MS3 or an SRT-4. Anyway. Just felt like putting this up somewhere where people might sorta maybe probably not care.
I grew out of that phase too. I don't really care too much what my car looks like anymore. It used to be a hobby, now it's just my mode of transportation to get to work. Some things are more important...
my bro and i grew out of that phase as well. i had a few "ricer" aspects like cf hood and hatch, but now i only have the hatch. we've considered a underglow kit, but decided against it.

Yea, I'm just seeing my car as a mode of transportation now.
Don't get me wrong, I still love it and I'll still do some little stuff here and there, but not like I once did.
It's a tricky hobby to keep up when the economy sucks too. Other things become more important.
I was never big on lighting (which meant my car was invisible at night shows), but I do have my city lights and grille lights and I still love those.

I love my lighting too, but then I'm an electrical engineer and therefore dwawn to all things runnign off of 12V. Gotta keep it tasteful though, no exposed LED bulbs, strips or wiring. I do have fun with it at shows, but am too old to be hanging out in mall parking lots. My xB is driven daily and does pretty well at shows, so it's been a fun ride so far. It also helped me learn to fabricate, fiberglass and do automotive paint. I like the Mac mini in dash the best
To the OP, if you're looking for a fun, powerful OEM replacement for the tC, please reconsider not getting the SRT-4. The older neons were alright, but the Caliber is just horrible interior wise, nothing but hard, poorly fitted grey plastic.
For factory turbo, the MS3 is nice if you want to keep a hatch, or wait for the Hyundai Genesis coupe to come out with the turbo I4 in 2009.

Munch took me for a spin in his SRT-4. It was a quick little car. I'm leaning towards the MS3 solely because its Japanese and I just prefer Japanese cars over American cars. It was pretty comfy when I sat in it too. I'll see. I'm hoping to do something by mid winter to early spring, be it turbo or just getting a new car in general.
