has anyone had this problem i took my car to dealer they did an oil change and codes were cleared. check engine light had come on after about 10 miles of driving then turned off until i put another 100 miles on the car. i checked the oil level today motor was nearly dry. its going bac to the dealer any ideas if warranty will cover it and qhy the car is burning oil???

to add to the questions above, do you have oil leaks or see some blue/whitish smoke on you exhaust?

 

Did you notice any oil in the driveway/where you park?

Mines a 06...

When I drain the Old Oil out I notice it only fill about 2 3/4 bottles when pouring the used oil into the quart bottles for disposal.....Weird!......good thing it Full Syn. Oil

 

no performance mods at all last engine codes i remember were something about the camshaft gear, misfire in cylinder 4 system to lean nd another one about the catalytic converter. i got jus under 36000 miles nd i use 5w30 toyota oil all scheduled maintaince has been done to my knowledge. wen my father gave me the car with 20k the pcv valve hadnt been changed but now i change it wit every oil change.

 

but did you see oil leaks like in your driveway or where you park the car or do you see excessive smoke on your exhaust?

 

no oil leaks as for as smoke a lil here nd there

 

why change pcv valve on every oil change? not necessary that often

 

its only 5 bucks i figured why not change it frequently the dealers says to change it every 15k

 

pretty easy change to do this pcv valve? i have to change mine. i havent really looked into how to do it but any tips? instructions?

 

Always possible the dealership didn't fill it up too. You should check the oil the same day you get it changed after the motor is cool.
