2008 Scion TC Exhaust Question
Hey, I bought a Megan Racing Drift Spec exhaust system for my 08' Scion TC. The company called me back to warn me that the hangers on the exhaust will not match up with the hangers underneth the car. Does anybody have a 2008 Scion TC with an aftermarket exhaust thats not TRD. They told me i will have to cut off the hangers on the exhaust and re-weld them or put new ones on. Can somebody help me. Does anybody have an 08' TC and experience any problems putting an aftermarket exhaust on there car?
No, i bought it over the phone from bishop motorsports and they were going to have it directly shiped to me. Bishop called Megan to order the part but Megan told bishop that the hangers wouldnt align. Bishop called to tell me, so i canceled the order.
It's the same. According to trd sparks, the trd exhaust they have listed for tc's 05-07 is part number : PT400-52840. Now if you look up the same trd exhaust for the 08-09's, it's still the same part number : PT400-52840.
So that means that it's the same thing, which leads to the hangers being the same. If it really was different, they would have a different part number listed for the 2008+ exhausts.

i can tell you from experience that we installed both my hks axle back and my jts88 megan drift spec on both our tc's and they both seem to sit further in then any other exhaust i have ever seen, his megan has burned the bumper really bad. we took it to an exhaust shop and they messed with it alittle but its still not right, the whole exhaust sits under the car basically so the hot fumes coming out hit dead on the bumper, same that happened to mine, but i had a custom midpipe made and it allowed me to center the muffler exactly where i wanted it, i brought this question up when i first got my 08 in aug of last year but everyone told me that its fine and i had nothing to worry about, after seeing some 07 and older ones with my same exhaust, i could def see a difference

^^^hmm that's odd, I installed my megan drift spec. on mine and didn't have to adjust it at all....perfect fitment in fact.
Yes the muffler sits in a little bit but not to the point where its melting anything. A little carbon build up is noticeable but only after about 2 months, (and I have a SW). Though nothing a claybar can't take care of.
Maybe some of them just don't fit right...guess I got lucky

yeah, maybe you have a better built exhaust, do you have an s-pipe, or header, cause we just installed his to the stock spipe and heade, ill have to get pics of how burnt up it is, its not that noticable cause he has csm, but its only been on the car for about 3000 miles and has been to the exhaust shop twice to have the system bent a little and some hangers messed with, and its still not right, all it does now is heat up the bumper and wrinkle the paint, but when he first installed it, it actually burned a hole through it.
