So I have my avic all installed and I love it, aside from a few things. Help maybe? Ok, so audio quality sounds great, but is there a way that I can decrease the bass that my front end speakers are putting out but keep subs sounding the way they do now? The front end is way too bassy to the point that it makes my low ends buzzy and defeats the purpose of my kick ___ sounding subs.


Also, sidenote. I put in a burned cd and it got stuck and the avic would not spit it out. I finally got ____ed and just put my nav cd in to see what would happen.....and it works. It will eject the nav cd play other cds whatever, but that first cd is definitely still in the deck...Any ideas? lol really weird.

 

got the crossover settign and put it at 50hz that will pullthe bass out of the speakers.
another option is run the speakers on an amp and use the amps crossover to pull it out which is what I did.I have zero bass over 60hz in my components....just a bit of midbass is left.....the sub has all the rest.

 

I still have to play around with mine... a lot more settings in the avic than I'm used to. Not to mention I had a bad ground on my amp and have to get my sub back in line with what it can do. What a PITA.

yeah no idea. i had my friend set it up. he's been doin car audio since b4 he left his momma's womb. and yeah it totally sounds clear. if anything go to a audio shop and have them tune it up for you.. or play w/ it yourself..

 

I played a little today...

I set the EQ to be lower (around flat) on the bass end of things... so that the actual speakers weren't putting out as much bass. Then tuned my amp accordingly to still keep the bass going. The upper end of the EQ is a bit higher (like lvl 3 of 5 or so). So I still get really clear highs.

 

Well if you're trying to get bass OUT of the speakers, not just quieter, the only effective way is to adjust the crossover. Set it to a higher frequency, probably somewhere between 60-80Hz depending on the range your sub is hitting at.

Adjusting the EQ will only tweak the gain at that frequency range, so your speaker will still play those frequencies.

 

thanks for the help guys I took care of it today got it sounding good enough for my taste just through the eq for now. I may take it and have them tune it better eventually, but I'm cool with how it sounds now
