View Full Version : Anyone autocross or track their XA? jackmott 01-16-2004, 07:47 PM how did it do? Djuan 01-16-2004, 08:30 PM somehow I'm dying to see if this is been attempted yet... thats what we need a k car / rally car... someone get to work ! jackmott 01-16-2004, 08:41 PM autcross != rally. look it up =) The scion looks to possibly be a perfect fit in HSTOCK, where currently the Mini Cooper is dominating. The scion is lighter, has more power per pound, and wider wheels than the mini. The mini has a superior rear suspension. could be interesting. maybe I'll find out =) jackmott 01-16-2004, 08:46 PM here, are some relevant 'on paper' stats: POWER WEIGHT - SCION mini - 2524/115@6000 /21.94 scion 2340/108@6000 /21.66 TRACK - MINI mini - 57.7 scion 57.3/56.3 WHEELBASE mini - 97.1 scion - 93.3 HEIGHT - MINI scion - 60.2 mini - 55.9 WHEELS: - SCION mini 15x5.50 scion 15x6?? SUSPENSION:- MINI mini mcpherson/multilink scion mcpherson/torsion stellarhavoc 01-17-2004, 02:33 AM Maybe this summer! jackmott 01-17-2004, 02:37 AM just test drove one. rear drum brakes! yuck. but probably not an issue on an autocross course. wont really ever need to slow down. brakes felt solid anyway. car seem to have a pretty high center of gravity though, and I could really feel that rear torsion beam. hmmm. great car for the money tho. mebe i will have one when they hit texas in Feb. 2fixA 01-17-2004, 07:15 PM let's see what my little baby can do now with the low pro tires on my 16 inch wheels, but I've always wanted to try rally, just my mustang was bad handling and way too heavy, but no more! Hey I'm from Houston Jack, what part are you in? PM me. Mr_scion 01-17-2004, 08:03 PM some one compare the mini to this http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4437 jackmott 01-17-2004, 10:25 PM some one compare the mini to this http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4437 kinda meaningless stats. tire plays such a huge role, and serious autocrossers will all be on the same tires (hoosiers). 2fix- I am around holcombe/brompton near the med center. nothing wrong with a mustang for autocross, it is much quicker than a scion would be. But the scion should do well in its class. |
