Default runnin an open turbo

Ok let me first start by saying i am not turboed, in the spring i will be though.

ok so my buddy has a turboed gsr he just got and it came with that mesh covering on the turbo inlet like most people do when they drag or w.e. i know its more optimal power but how safe can it be?

I mean i think its fine for like a nice sunny day or weekend when u feel like gettin on it but its not something you would wanna do regularly right?

Just wanted some opinions cause he's asked me about it before, thanks guys

Not practical on our cars unless your MAF is on the charge pipe.

Definitely would not do it even though you have something over its still not filtering the air anywhere close to what an actual air filter would.

GSR doesn't have a MAF sensor so it's okay.. they only have a MAP sensor - I was saying if YOU were to do it...

The first car I ever really worked on was my buddy's '94 GSR. We turbo'd it with a Drag Gen 3 kit. It came with a 57trim T04E/T3 turbo.. the car made 271whp 181wtq at 6psi with a 3" exhaust.
