new nano...

well you sort of have to realize that the radios were designed to work up to the 08 models of the apple products..
apple threw a wildcard into the mix when they decided to drop firewire support in the ipods and decided to swap some pins in the iphone...
try this. go to the apple store and have one of the apple guys bring a new nano with them to your car and see if it works. most of the employees own the new products or have access to a free floating model so that they can be familiarized with the product. if anything it will help them sell the product to know that the new nano will for sure work with the scions

i have the new ipod touch and it works fine, one thing is it doesnt charge but i Heard that was a problem on previous models. You should be fine because the way that it plugs in is through an accessory access point not USB or Firewire

i just thought of an idea..
if youre brave and have a good soldering hand, you can cut apart the OEM ipod cable and splice the old ipod wire to the new ipod wire... if this idea makes sense then it should charge the new ipod when you plug it in and also charge the old ipod when you plug it in..
http://pinouts.ru/ for pinouts.. i dont have a need to do this but it may be a good idea...

A lot of car adapters use the Firewire voltage to charge the iPod rather than the USB voltage. This adapter is supposed to convert the voltage to allow chargeing. http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-...CmoreStories.0
