Default Need Immediate Help on Supercharger...

Ok. So my girlfriend owns a Scion TC. I like to drive her car when we go out places or take a nice trip to the shore or Atlantic City. Its a nice getaway from driving my Escalae EXT which is powerful and all but nothing beats a sporty little car. I am contemplating if I should go out and buy an older Camaro or if I should invest a little in my girlfriends car. She has a 2006 TC with I believe close to 40,000 miles. Not sure what her warranty is but she got a letter in the mail about a deal on a supercharger. I saw it and immediately thought it would be a good idea. Her car is an Automatic. Just wanted to get some details from anyone with knowledge on the TC Supercharger if it is worthe the money to get it and have it put in or if it will cause more headaches than its worthe. Remember that 90% of the time she will be driving the car so I am trying to keep that in mind. I don't want her to get behind the wheel and no longer like driving the car cause of a huge power increase or something. So if anyone could help me out and let mek now what the supercharger is like that Scion offers and also if you have an automatic with it let me know what its like. Like I said, not sure if its worthe buying the Supercharger for her car or just going out and buying an older Camaro and going from there. Thanks for the input.

the supercharger gives you about a 40 hp boost. a stock auto tc puts like 130 or so to the wheels....so you are looking at about 160-170whp or about 190hp. for about $3k

that would probably make it a little faster than a stock manual tc. if you want to make it faster you can get header, s pipe, catback, 12psi pulley, piggyback ecu, tune, and tranny cooler. i think that would put you around 200-210whp or 240hp and run you another $2k

so you can drop a few gs into someone else's car and make it pretty quick or get your own older car and probably make it faster for cheaper.

i know what i would do.

1) Whether or not the supercharger is a good deal... really just depends on who you ask.

2) Investing in a girlfriends' car... bad idea. Perhaps if she were your wife, then maybe.... but when she breaks up with you after you dump 5-6k into her car... yeah, that's insult to injury.

I have a 05 auto tc with bout 30k miles, and i got boosted back in July of this year. The car is quick stock, but if your not looking for a mass power increase, the charger is a good way to go, my car now has the amount of power that these cars should come with stock. The power stays the same when you dont need it, and its there for you when you do need it, like when passing people on the freeway : )

wouldnt you have more fun buying lingerie for your woman? Fredericks makes some nice stuff. buying something for someone else's car is just kinda .. well, stupid.

I am more of a wicked weasel fan.. they make some KILLER stuff.

if you find a Camaro make sure its a V8 with the final price of the supercharger and install, you can run 12 second passes with your Camaro. and after the trade in with your Escalade you can run mid 11's all day.
