a CAI would be much better, with a short ram you're still sucking in warm air from the engine bay

ive got it on my car, it works good. sounds really mean and throaty, and the throttle response improved a bit. pulls a bit harder. the technology they use is pretty good actually. it dyno'd at 6hp on my car.

about the heat soak idea, heat soak only happens when at a dead stop becuase when you are moving the cold air is going into the engine bay through the grill. also weapon r makes a cold air box to shield it from the power robbing heat, they also make a ram air kit which is a flexible tubing the has a scoop that you mount under the car where the cold air comes from, dont worry about hydrolocking becuase there is a sort of filter that stops water from entering the intake.
