Is NST alt & water pump pulley kit beneficial?
i was just curious to know if the NST alternator & water pump pulley kit alone (not the crank pulley) provided any benefits.
- faster throttle response?
- increased mpg?
- does it free up HP and TQ?
i'm assuming that all of the above is true since they're lighter than OEM, but will the possible increase in performance justify the $160 cost?
i'm NOT running any crazy audio/video system setup. the most i might do is upgrade the speakers and get an touchscreen navi. as a result, maybe the lite water pump pulley for $88 might be the only thing i need???
or is my money better spent elsewhere...?

when you get the crank pulley the reason you get better performance is coz its a lot lighter and therefore a lot easier for the belt to spin it.
those pulleys are driven by the same belt, and since they're linked by that belt, if you have 2 heavy pulleys and 1 light pulley the heavy ones are gonna make it harder for the belt to spin, if you get the whole set of pulleys the belt will spin much easier (coz you got rid of the resistance the other 2 pulleys were providing)...
i tried wording that the best i could lol but the point is a chain is only as strong as its weekest link (or heaviest pulley)...
i would get the set.
thats just my $.02

thanks for response. i'm already aware of the benefits for a light weight crank pulley. i'm hesitant because of the potential damage it may cause because of harmonic vibrations. there's already a bunch of threads about this, so i won't get into it here.
i was just wondering if the other 2 pullies provided any benefits and was worth the money.
