yea i am unsure on the foam filter, i may change the filter out eventually. but for some reason, i really like the way it comes up infront of the engine like it does. it has a sort of "awesome" factor in my opinion. so if it does not produce much or any more power, im not gonna be mad. anyways.. its a dang xb.. im just trying to go with making the engine bay look nice, and having the car sound good and look good. im not worried about power.

yea i saw that earlier, then was looking at my old post about how the perrin exhaust i ordered was discontinued and saw a link to the perrin site, and remembered how they have stopped making parts for the scions. so i was like. hmm i wonder how cheap they have the intakes on sale for. clicked the link and was like "ok im getting it!"

and i like the placement aswell due to its in a good area where water would have a hell of a time getting to.

Yea, there's a lot to say about not worrying about hydrolocking it.
Good price, too. Also, the silicone isn't going to suffer heat soak like a standard intake.

I come from the evo world and it now seems this is one of the filters to have. a company named CBRD made 10whp just exchanging the filter over a K&N with this Perrin filter. Note that is filter only no intake or tuning changes....

so i got it in the mail today.. yea so much for 2 day shipping.. im calling tomorrow and getting a refund for that haha.

so the install was simple.. except for the three bolts to remove the bottom section of the stock airbox.. i didnt have an extender long enough to reach them.. so for now the bottom of the airbox is still on the car heh.

so after installing.. i cranked the car and prayed for no check engine lights.. and none came on so i went around to the engine and manually revved it and wow.. it is a beast haha. i love the sound. though i cannot really tell a diff in power.,. it does sound much better. and it looks sweet. very well worth the money i paid.
