Default Max S/C Psi

So from the documentation ive read the trd s/c unit is actually capable of close to 20 psi? I have a friends car who already has the trd sc - we are building the motor with weisco 9:1 pistons, carillo rods, and of course all the works including full port and polished head with titanium 1mm over valves, with spring retainer kit, etc. My question is - he really wanted to go turbo - but due to not being abel to sell the s/c cant really afford it at this time, what is the smallest pulley you can put on the s/c and the highest boost you can achieve without creating a black hole that pulls the supercharger into a million pieces of destruction :D lol Ive seen 14psi but im just curious what can really be achieved and where we could get the pulley. Also this will have a frozenboost air to water ic and meth inject engaging at 3/4-full boost.

THANKS GUYS!!

the supercharger itself is good up to 25 psi, but on the tc, the smallest pulley you can get on it is 14 psi. if he is spending so much on that engine, why can't he afford a turbo?

I am pretty sure NST can make a custom one for you for more.

it has to do with the ratio of how many times the crank pulley turns relative to the supercharger pulley turns. so to make more boost, you need either a smaller supercharer pulley, or a larger crank pulley, the problem is that you can't make the crank pulley larger because it doesn't have enough clearance to be any larger, and you can't make a pulley smaller then 14 psi because the belt will start slipping.

as for the expense - no idea - im just the laborer lol he basically said he doesnt want to spend the money on the turbo unless he can get rid of his supercharger. Yea i was looking at the 14psi pulley and that thing is incredibly small so i can see what youre saying - any smaller and the belt will def slip - looks like well prob be going with the 14psi pulley and if its not enough than hell just have to go turbo lol and yes kik already was thinking about getting with you to order the new bearings and seal kit and get her upgraded before putting the charger back on tha car

Talk to someone about putting some gears onto the supercharger.

i was actually kind of wondering about that - ive seen a pic of the compressor drive end torn apart and im wondering if i could get a new gears machined to increase the capability of the charger

I think you should boost it to 14psi first then go from there.
