So I'm thinking of going with either the fab kit or a lip kit like the kens... what I'm curious about is how much drop is too much when adding a kit like the fab?? i wanted to go goldlines or df210s on 15s but i don't want my kit to be scraping down the street when installed (the springs are coming first of course)

ne way - pics would be nice if someone has something similar. if this has been posted elsewhere, so sorry, i just got hella tired looking through the posts! ;)

well it wont be on the ground scrapin but have fun with driveways , curbs , and some speed bumps.

true, of course i was exaggerating - but thats what i'm wondering not too worried about a lip kit as it doesn't affect the ground clearance as much a tall deep bumper like the fab kit. i dunno - RSR and Tein s.tech sound reasonable enough, and should allow enough clearance (of course i'll still have to driver sideways).

off topic (yes already) does ne one know whats up with the TRF kit? i really wanted to pick that up but i haven't been able to find out anything new on it - thats the only reason i really changed my mind.

oh btw "curbs" isn't that why we bought xBs?? we can pull 2 feet into a space and not stick out! hah :D

running 15's, what size tire? i'm still running the 15" stock alloys and tires with the s-tech drop. there are many drive ways / curbs i am struggling to get in. some curbs i actually have to drive sidwards to get up the drive way. i would say go with some bigger rims to get you off the ground. i have to check with my friend he just put on the kenstyle lip kit with the s-tech springs, but he's on 18's.

stock tires, just new wheels...

i'm just a stingy bastard, i don't feel like spending $1000 on wheels on tires, when I just stick w/ stock tires and buy new 15's

That's what i'm planning on doing...using stock tires with aftermarket 15's.

exactly for 1k... I don't give a damn about the performance of the stock tires, i don't auto-x, or street race - so they roll just fine for my needs right now. eventually i will upgrade but not right now.

btw, why yokos when for a little more $$ you can get bf goodrich g-force t/a kdws??? basically one of the best tires for any amount of $$ you can buy.

the only time its too low is when you scrape on the reflectors in the middle of the lanes :D hehe, when my car was stock height it scraped sometimes, you just gotta drive carefully and budget to have the front lip repainted every year of so....gotta pay to play right. thats my opinion anyway

actually goodrichs's blow i previously had em on my supra and i noticed soooo many improvements after i switched to yoko's . yokohama avs es100's are awesome tires. about 129 for most 17" applications. and beside how much are 15" rims? still like 400 for a set. might as well. besides eagle ls tires suck in rain , snow , ice , they wail , and look bad. not bashing just tryin to help out

i would use something between 1"-1.5" really, nothing is to low if you know how to drive a lowered car.

dudes, focus on the question. they gentleman wants to know about drop versus two kits, fabulous or ken style. you sound like you obviously have seen the japanese sites, since many of the rides there are on 15's. i 'm on 18's and have no problem, cause i drive slowly when ot comes to pot holes or speed bumps. i feel the next thing you should do would go for springs and sways bars (front and rear) for about $300 american. that way you get springs, which gives you your 2" drop, which you HAVE to do, or else it will look like crapola.. then your ride with the sways will be literally 90% better....all done in one time.. hotchkis has a sport set for xb's that will do it all.. then drop to the fab kit, but get an authentic kit, there is a load of fakes out there.
the fab kit blows away the ken style kit. in my opinion only. plus they're cheap now. if your afraid of a whole kit , then just get a lip to see what it will looks like. what you don't want to do is get a full body and hate it in 3 months.
i would do it. but you have to expect some dings. if you look at it that way, then it's not nearly so bad.

if you get a first gen fab copy the fit is fine , just dont go buyin it off ebay unless you KNOW the company , way too easy for people to sell a 7th gen copy for bargain basement.
